Today’s Question:
QotD: Why hasn’t your favorite Pokemon gotten the attention they truly deserve?

Helpful considerations: Ancient curse? Committed an unsaid crime? Too many others hogging the spotlight? Really unfortunate design?

Mareeps are best in a flock. Obviously this is difficult to navigate with a 6 Pokemon limit team, game designers were asleep at the wheel for this oversight. Also those lazy anime artists don’t want to draw multiple mareeps in every episode to really get it to the top of the charts where it belongs :rage:

Because it isn’t charizard or Pikachu

Seemed to work out fine for eevee… or maybe there is still something holding it back…

Rayquaza gets no love

Not the love it deserves… but why?

It’s gotten exactly the amount of love it deserves.

Harsh… but maybe not wrong.

Because it evolves, which is also why it has received attention.

I think I’ve been pretty lucky with all of my favorite Pokemon and the attention that they’ve received.

Ho-Oh has always been in the shadow of the Guardian of the Sea, Lugia. But even so, it’s still received a fair amount of attention, whether through its Rainbow Feather, its direct/indirect appearances in the anime, and its showcase in the Smash Bros. universe.

Kyogre is a bit unloved compared to Groudon. But with its primal form in XY and relationship to Lana in S/M, it’s gotten a fair amount of attention recently.

Clefairy : because it’s pink
Leafon : because it’s not umbreon
Cresselia : because people have no taste
Raikou : I truly don’t know, this mons is so badass and well designed
Meganium : because it’s too weak I guess
Alolan exeggutor : because people are mad that’s it’s a dragon while charizard is just a fire bird

I wish MewTwo got the Charizard treatment or Pikachu treatment. An obsidian flames looking MewTwo card like the Charizard EX would look sick! Glad it gets some love tho.

As for Shadow Lugia, I heard there’s some copy right issues :smiling_face_with_tear:

Middle evolution to the most popular ghost-type of all time. Mindy knows what’s up.

Shout out to Black Fog though, no Gengar has ever had such a treatment.

Because he “caused” epileptic seizures. This attention should have gone to “someone” else.

The second they figured out you can just buff Pikachu with ex or other gimmicks they didn’t need Raichu anymore.

Took them a while though as I think Raichu is still in the top 10 most used pokemon in the tcg

I’m surprised by the lack of ultra rare Arcanines that pokemon prints with each generation. It finally got an ex card in SV base (I think it’s last ex was legend maker)

My favorites have been so neglected the past 3 generations… Neglected in a way of the milk bags are dry, stop squeezing the utter!
