For whatever reason Meganium is just not that popular with fans. I love it’s design as I tend to like Dinosaur inspired Pokémon but most people seem to be apathetic at best towards it. In the games it’s stat distribution, movepool, and ability have always been less than great leaving it outclassed by other grass types with similar roles. It hasn’t had a prominent presence in the tcg, it’s last appearance was in Lost Thunder in 2018. You’d think with it being a starter it would get more love… I guess there’s just not enough demand from fans.

Meganium has a beautiful design and bayleef isnt bad either, but chikorita is the weakest design of the starters. Its like a sentient jellybean.

This one is interesting because I would prefer they neglect my fav ‘mons rather than give a uninteresting cgi EX, GX, V, ex… etc. every few sets.

Sandslash Kingler and Ninetales arent exactly popular pokemon but they def have a ton of love other mons would kill to have. If i were to guess why they arent as popular it would be due to being not-commonly loved archetypes (Legend, Early Bird, Early Rodent, Etc.) and not on a popular trainers team? Although kingler has ash but he isnt really a star player.

I think wailord gets a fair amount of tcg attention, and with wailord, comes wailmer. Usually the wailmer cards aren’t anything special though. Still waiting for the wailmer alt art

Victreebel…my sweet prince your day will come. lol Vileplume exist so Victreebel has been relegated to the storage box. 
Can’t even get a holo rare these days. Stage 2 uncommon is the best it gets. So much potential in a Victreebel ex SIR.
And don’t even get me started on the frog bros, Poliwrath and Politoed. Both were prominent water type holos, Politoed even peaked as an ultra rare…these days? Uncommons/non-holo rares.

hey if you are interested in some justice for victreebel at least in some sense, scott’s thoughts did a solo playthrough in yellow version and its one of the best performing pokemon to date. I also have a actual pitcher plant i named victreebel. It was touch and go for a while, but he recovered and is putting out a new pitcher and soon i can feed him again.
