QotD: What pokemon is outshined by a similar one in its own generation?

Okay, first of all, do you speak to your mother with that mouth?

Secondly, 100% yes. Entei got its own movie (Pokémon 3: The Movie). Suicune got its own game (Crystal) and movie highlight (Pokémon 4Ever). Raikou has 26 English cards printed to Entei’s 35 and Suicune’s 63.

Both Suicune and Entei received TCG promos for their movies as well. Here are the English prints.

Have you been living under a rock? :nail_polish:

This never happened. Mew is loved mostly and so is mewtwo

Edit: Thanks @pfm

Look how funny we all agree one thing.

We keep forgetting phionne and it deserves to be forgotten. Not being harsh but most sinnoh legends deserve to be forgotten. Too many legends will never make that tier interesting

ohhhh oops. i read this question in the context of the games only because that’s my chief memory of pokemon tbh. a fire pokemon pre-phys/special split with a high attack and no special attack is about as useful as a high five to a drowning person. but yes it sounds like in the movies and tcg, entei got the sparkle

lol for all intents and purposes yes, i put my cards in a box and forgot about them for ~20 years :old_woman:

This wasn’t always the case!

Mew was less achievable in the 1990s and early 2000s. We had Mewtwo off the bat in Base Set, the first blockbuster movie centered around Mewtwo, several promos, and a playable video game character in Super Smash Brothers Melee.

Today in 2026, it seems almost the opposite, that Mew is outshining Mewtwo.

Crawdaunt got shafted compared to Sharpedo. I think Crawdaunt has such a sick design while Sharpedo got a mega and was Archie’s ace.
