When Gen 2 first came out, Umbreon was outshined by Espeon. Seems silly to say today. I literally knew 0 people who liked Umbreon more in the 2000s

Not in Gen 1 mate. I was talking about the generation where they came out. Although, yeah Horn Drill existed. But still, OHKO moves were really useless in game, and mostly banned outside of it. Dewgong was useless.

Lapras, mostly. But also Cloyster. Far better stats, and better movepools. It also doesn´t help that they share the same typing.

I don’t know if this counts, but I remember as a kid thinking Zapdos was better than Raichu since Raichu’s biggest attack was Zapdos smallest attack.

Clefairy was outshined by Jigglypuff … Both are similar, but Jigglypuff has gained more popularity due to it’s a playable character in Super Smash Bros

did this happen??? design-wise i’ve barely ever registered entei, and raikou is one of my favorite pokemon ever. not to mention entei suffers from flareon disease so is mostly useless in the gen it appears in. if people slept on raikou in favor of entei, they’re fools. i thought i was in the majority

Okay, first of all, do you speak to your mother with that mouth?
Secondly, 100% yes. Entei got its own movie (Pokémon 3: The Movie). Suicune got its own game (Crystal) and movie highlight (Pokémon 4Ever). Raikou has 26 English cards printed to Entei’s 35 and Suicune’s 63.
Both Suicune and Entei received TCG promos for their movies as well. Here are the English prints.
