I’ve been getting all old holders too though I prefer them. They are slightly smaller and fit in the acrylic psa holders which the new holders don’t.
Thanks Gary. I hope PSA can clarify this as it is very disappointing.
Last time I submitted 51 cards and requested for the new holders. Someone from PSA put a note on the box instructing their production to use the new holders but still, the old cases were used. The cards were shipped back to me with the note still attached.

No good news to report. With sports being a priority over non sports a decision had to be made on how to handle the transition so sports won out:(
I put in my pitch but I’m not confident on it making any difference.
There are only a couple pallets of old holders left so it shouldn’t be too long before they’re gone.
If anybody receives a pokemon card in a new case let everyone here know via a new topic. If you’re not reselling and want only the new cases, it might be best for you to hold off grading for awhile till the new cases come into the non sports rotation.
I find that to be extremely disappointing news. I’d think that all customers are a priority, regardless of what they’re sending in. Lest I checked, I wasn’t paying less because I was grading a non-sports card.
I understand monkey but often life isn’t fair. Its a logistical thing but not an insurmountable one. I made my pitch. Maybe you all should cause there’s power in numbers.
How many holders are there on a couple of pallets? As Gary said, maybe we should all delay submitting our cards until these two pallets are gone.
The primary reason why I want those new holders is because the current holders are still prone to frosting on the sides which makes it unsightly and in the case of the uninformed, they are ‘evidence’ of tampering.
Hmmm…that’s a good question but, sadly I don’t know how many are on a pallet. Purchasing would know but they won’t say and customer service would have no idea. For sure, don’t mention me cause some of what I tell you I shouldn’t;)
Yes, the new cases eliminates the frosting problem which is pretty cool:) I have quite a few baseball cards in the new cases and they’re fine though I honestly prefer the size of the old ones. If you haven’t seen one, size wise they’re equal to SGC holders.
What’s really sh*tty about this whole thing is that you can submit your PSA-graded non-sports cards now and they will re-holder your cards in the new thick cases for $5 a piece.
PSA should have used up all the old holders on both sports and non-sports cards before moving to the new thick holders. It’s the right thing to do.
I likely will. I appreciate the effort you’ve made. I just find it very frustrating.

Thanks for letting us know! I can [grudgingly] deal with them relegating the unused old holders to Non-Sports cards as a temporary thing. What I was worried about was non-sports cards forever being graded in old holders. At least they’ll eventually find their way into new holders.
@garyis2000 What about Re-holdering? If I send an order of Pokemon cards in to be reholdered do they end up in the new style holders or the old ones?

I Believe you can re holder for a fee and get new cases but you’d better double check.

While you’re here, do you know if they re-use old holders? I am just curious, because I received a few that were badly scratched (and I am too cheap to send them back in for a fix).
Yes I can answer that one. No cases are ever reused but if you get a scratched one they that just came back they will recase them and ship back to you for free. If you push CS you can even get a free grade or two to make up for your cost to ship back to them:)

Great news! I just received my cards back from PSA and they are in the new holders.
It looks like they finally used up those old holders.
