Thank you and to be clear I’m not really trying to sell it. Similar to how @smpratte posts a one of a kind card for a half a million dollars, I set the price based on how much I would let it go for. If that price takes multiple years to get to, or never gets to it, so be it. Also, if people want to send offers to me maybe one day I will need the money and let it go.

I mean, not calling you out or anything, but the description was changed like 1.5 hours ago. Not sure what was changed/added, but I have a pretty good idea. Your card to do whatever you want with, but your defensiveness adds to the obviousness.

If you’re referring to the obviousness of him being a flipper I do not think that that is the case. He posted on Instagram on May 9th saying he was going to be holding the card for a while and doing different things in life.

Next day: *posts card for sale on eBay*
Here’s my real opinion. Showing it off? Common. That’s not a thing. You’ve listed it for sale. If you wanted to show it off. You could have made a special thread about it on here. Maybe you don’t want to sell for what you paid for if. But don’t pretend you’re not just tickled by the thought of making a quick couple G’s. Call if what you want. But the cards for sale. Lol. Very shortly after purchase.

He can do whatever he wants with his card 100%. Of course.
Doesn’t change the fact that buying for x$. Then listing a couple days later for x+$ falls within the very popular category. Called flipping.
Why do people constantly use a buying site (eBay) to show things off that aren’t actually for sale, that’s what drives me nuts. If you’re going to show off, use a forum like this or instagram. Or better yet, be humble enough to not feel the need to show off.
What are the damages?
Ebay is an advertisement platform as well as a marketplace. Also most physical store fronts have a trophy case full of high end items for show. The concept has been around before ebay existed.

Because it attracts more people to you, and your ebay. Which is great for selling other stuff from your store that people may be looking for when they go to his listing. This guy has an awesome one of a kind card and people are really getting mad because he wants to show it off on probably the biggest marketplace for collectibles right now lol. And even if he was legitimately looking to sell it, so what? None of you know his financial situation or why he may need to sell it anyways. People need to stop being so sour lol

Because maybe if someone hits “buy it now,” he will sell it?
If someone hits buy it now, awesome; he made a nice profit. If no one makes an offer, awesome; he has an amazing card. He also draws more attention to his eBay store.
It’s a win-win for him. I don’t see what the problem is. Gary has literally done the same thing with his godly Charizard collection. He has it listed for $1.4 million. Will anyone buy it? Probably not, but why not list it just in case someone does decide to pull the trigger?
I just don’t understand why this guy listing an expensive card on eBay bothers people. It doesn’t affect you at all.

Like others have said, who cares what he does with his card? He can incinerate it for all I care.
