Going to do a quick analysis of the Pokemon Premium Trainer XY Collection Best of XY.

MSRP on this is $99.99. Higher than the Mew and Mewtwo Premium Collection Box and Ho-oh Premium Collection Box. Can’t think of another mainstream product that has retailed for this high.

The lowest retail prices I have found is $95 including shipping. I’ll be taking current eBay listing prices so take values with a big grain of salt.

None of those prices will hold, the box will be readily available and as soon as Oct 20th hits, expect much lower prices. Still an awesome product.

Yup I expect prices to take a big hit. But even at say 50% price drop across the board, which is think is conservative it still seems like a gain in value… Prices would have to drop 66% on everything just to break even.

i’m like 90% sure the full art N will be very much desired in the case of this new release. I’m hopeful that it stays high due to its heavy playable state right now. As for other products, yeah these will probably drop significantly due to being out of rotation and only available for Expanded format.

N is the only card that will hold it’s high value. Huge demand. All the players in my local league are trying to get 4 copies to play in their decks. A guy literally bought 4 boxes just to get a playset.

The fact that only 2 booster packs are included is insane to me.

Complete useless product. The real staple cards (Shaymin, N) are close to being phased out of playability.
N might keep some value, but they price will start tanking soon enough when more boxes are being popped with Thanksgiving and Christmas. Typical holiday season product.

(Master) Set Collectors should wait 3-4 months so they able to pick up each card for less then 10$ ea.

Such a disappointing product…was a super easy pass for me. Don’t see how people can be wanting to pay $80-100 for mostly lackluster Full Arts and what amounts to a mass-produced cheap coin and a couple of booster packs. Heck, there are places where you can pretty much buy 3x Shining Legends ETBs for the price of one of these Premium XY trainer boxes…

If people are itching to drop money on current product it’s better to pour it into Shining Legends boxes instead imo.

N is down to $30 bucks and everything else is under $5 with Shaymin around $8 right now. I knew this product and the singles would come crashing down.

anyone know how it has affected the best of xy jp set? the booster boxes for best of plus20th have barely moved since release

Cards released in tins/boxes always crash i guess in a way thats the point of them being reprinted so that everyone can get hold of them. Thats still $98 just in promo cards though so its still not the worst buy if you wanted cheap boosters.

The English release of SL was well done, but English BOXY felt like a rushed afterthought.

I think it went as low as $75 on one site during a Black Friday sale last week but I can’t remember where it was.

Japanese BOXY hasn’t seen any growth from its initial increase, because of the massive second wave of product available.

You have to be far more patient to see returns tbh. BOXY wasnt even released that long ago if you think about it.

Im not looking to sell or get a return from it.I was just thinking they must have released a huge wave more, making the price stagnate for a while :blush:

If you like the art, then pick up the singles after the next standard rotation (February?)
N will be out of standard and shaymin will be a sad afterthought.
