As for the artwork at hand, I love them. Their take on Exeggcute and Exeggutor (not shared in the NintendoSoup article) are probably my favourite. Thanks for sharing, these are great!

Thanks for inviting and yeah, great stuff! Pokenomicon? Ha, I should use that on the occasion.

It’s amazing how much David Szilagyi has made. Alot have this postapocalyptic nocturnal primal survivor vibe stripping away the natural distinction. Or whatever current generation horror concept it is by accentuating every sharp feature. I like his Rapidash and following my choice of Ponyta on this weeks Pokédex, the line’s recent adaptation is terrible compared to the real screaming need for them to turn the gothic route.

Known Arvalis’ stuff for years, he got onto the design for Detective Pikachu and you can see the distinction as his stuff for the most part contrastingly from David, completely erases the distinctive build of the Pokémon for the most proportioned realistic approach at the cost of character. And we all know how much pokémon have character, so it’s about striking a balance. With the recent Hypno David has got there. Mannn he should try out the beta and glitch mons bad.
For official there’s Junji Ito, the Munch series, Komiya, Kusube and this subtle Arita occasion. *****Okay occassions. If anyone knows where I can find a size L of either art from former campaign pretty please get in touch for a reasonable offer.

One other artist I like at parts is Brando Chiesa (NSFW) and keep dreaming closer to how an Abra Kadabra Alakazam, Smeargle, Shining Espeon, Missingno piece would be…

Some of those art works are like a MTG mash up with pokemon. Also akin to the detective pikachu pokemon.
