Pokémon x Van Gogh Museum collaboration

Such high population shows it’s not a really rare card.

I’m not sure how many cards were physically handed out at the event vs put online on Pokemon Center…but I think the overall perception of how this drop went down skewed the current market price higher.

IE. If you remember back to Special Delivery Charizard, it felt like wave after wave of codes went out each week. Generally I think
the perception was that SD Charizard was an “easy” card to obtain if you were patient. Whereas the overall public perception of Van Gogh was instant sellout.

The only variable I can think of is the overall population of SD Zard being a lot higher than what PSA pop report shows. That when people got their card, it was in such poor condition that they didnt bother sending into PSA…whereas the Van Gogh overall print quality was much higher.

During January the average VG graded per day still is around 230ish.

Cards will be available from 10th of Februari, it seems like in great numbers:
“The cards were extremely popular, and we heard that fans were asking if they could be available again in the Netherlands,” said Simon Benton, Vice President of TCG Sales at The Pokémon Company International. “I’m very pleased that we were able to print a very large quantity of cards so that fans can purchase one.”

Does anyone know why the PSA pop is wrong on TCG fish? Currently shows 1,648 total pop vs the ~22,000 actual. Wondering if anyone has noticed an issue with other cards, or if it’s user error.

I think their site is down/under maintenance

If you see, it says last sold in December. When I checked a few days ago it seems like the data hasnt updated in a bit.

An important point from the website.

The collector’s item is given as a gift when purchasing other items from the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG). The minimum purchase amount for this gift is 29.99 euros. While supplies last, one card per person is available.

I won’t recommend that site, it’s not often updated.

What site(s) would you recommend, if any?

What sites do you maintain, that others can benefit from in the tcg space? Kidding - i know the answer is none

Seems to be that scalpers still gonna get a lot of promos. Cardmarket is full of people selling 20/40/50 and even 500 promos.

Reddit has a few unverified reports of belgian stores also being part of distribution with claims of more than 100cards per store. No idea if its true but the more cards available, the better for most collectors.
