We have received multiple reports that some customers who placed orders for Van Gogh Pokemon products are receiving cancellation e-mails from the Pokemon Center. Their entire orders have been cancelled with no specific explanation given. We have verified that some of these customers are not scalpers.

I’m still in that weird state of limbo where i never got an email confirming my order nor an email canceling it

I paid, my credit card showed it was paid for (via paypal).

Money was never taken properly and was credited again (showed pending after a couple days)

Pokemon center shipped and then took my cash.

They don’t normally do that, it’s usually taken the second I hit buy so I wonder what happened there.

This is in the UK.

Incredibly accurate

Same, I’m thinking it will drop off unfortunately.

My other orders shipped out today (confirmed ones, but not my unconfirmed one)

I debating on sending a support ticket, however I doubt that would do anything.

I was referring mostly to the logistic side of things. On how a company on this scale could not predict this kind of stuff or have plan B, C, etc.

Wasn’t referring on the promo or marketing itself.

If it helps, I had two confirmed orders ship yesterday and an unconfirmed one ship today, so there is still a chance it works out!

As I grew older, I begin to hate crowded places and would simply pay black market prices if I really wanted the Van Gogh × Pikachu card.

Personally sometimes I pay more to eat a quiet meal in a posh restaurant or cafe just for the solitude. I don’t feel loneliness but tranquility.

My order went perfectly fine. Looking forward to have some coffee in my new mug.

TPCi does own a card printing factory now so the card itself can be printed to demand if required.

Everything else probably has to be ordered from others and therefore cannot necessarily be fulfilled in the time scale required. Though given the amount of plushies they make, surely they could if they wanted to strike a deal.

I guess good news for those who just want the card since it’d be ridiculous to not have anything for the 4 month collaboration after 1 week but the rest of the stuff, as their press release stated is gone.

That’s if they don’t care about who actually gets their hands on the products. Given their history, I don’t think they care but it’d be better for them in the long run to actually get their products to people who genuinely want them. It’s going to sell out either way but one increases negative sentiment amongst fans.

TPC has shown they aren’t immune to the backlash/negative press, so there’s a chance that might eventually influence TPCi.

Went for the Pikachu promo, stayed for the clogs.

Overall my museum visit was enjoyable, Still very crowded but mainly by the entrance and the Pokemon exhibit, the other rooms felt like any other museum during peak summer time.

I didn’t see any Pokemon themed merch in the shop when I went (2pm-Tuesday) but I wasn’t exepcting too anyway.

Nice shoe study! I should go to the museum more just to draw

I’d like to see any evidence that there is actually a widespread issue with resellers acquiring a significant majority of the cards/merch.

From everything that I’ve seen so far on social media and E4, a wide variety of fans were able to get these promos. Yes resellers got some, but many fans are also selling off their extra merch and promos. Everything sold out super fast and it’s sad that more people did not have an opportunity to buy, but blaming “scalpers” seems like a knee-jerk reaction by people who missed out.

Finished at the museum and got my promo. The scalpers outside were only offering €40 now. Overheard a few of them talking and one said they had 200 already…

Well that’s… just sad. Were there any merch left in the store? (Prints and postcards, etc). And also any indication from the museum about the availibility of the promo? will be visiting on the 9th so I hope there will be some left then.

Yeah, it is since there’s a lot of people who went to the museum who don’t really care about pokemon so they just sell their card to the scalpers to get quick money. And they had no pokemon Van Gogh merch left whatsoever. I asked one of the employees and they said they sell a limited amount of each item per day so whoever has the 9a-930a slots will most likely get some. As per the promo card, from what I saw, they have a massive amount so I’m sure when you go, they’ll still have the promo.

I am patiently waiting for the Pikachu card to go low so I can get one :eyes:

Most I’ve paid for a modern card is 140 and I refuse to go higher lol

I think the card will drop to around 25 usd in the coming months.
Everyone has their eyes on them right now but that will fade away.
Im super happy that i was lucky enough to get the print on demand paintings on the van gogh webshop because these were suddenly gone a few hours after i ordered them. No idea if they will be back on the site in the coming months.
