well, that got dark…
One of the dataminers for the game got contacted directly from Nintendo (who knew the guy’s name and contact info) and was warned not to leak anything. Other leakers have apparently gotten similar warnings over the last day or so.
The talk around town is that there are copies currently being moved and some are bound to make their way out into the public. Typically the games leak about 10 days before release, so having it leak now would be out of the norm. Only 3 weeks until the release, so it doesnt matter a ton, but maybe we will see some pictures/videos/datamining in the next week.

I feel that the trend to create Pokémon that incorporate new features, mechanics or themes (like the “treasure” one, in this case) of the game is bit too hard for a Genwunner like me. I want real Pokémon not concept monsters.

Just want to reiterate that we are now getting a steady flow of pictures from the game now, mostly dex pics. There have been some 2 dozen Pokémon leaked in the last day or so, including some of the Ancient/Future Pokémon and all 3 starter evolution lines.
From what I’ve seen, ancient forms > future forms

Unfortunately the trend of making bad starters just to stick with regional themes and culture (Spanish one, in this case) continues.
Well, ggs Violet. Scarlet paradox forms sold me. I’m sure there will be an in-universe explanation for the Violet paradoxes but they seriously look like Team Rocket imitation mechas from the anime.
As a volcarona fan I’m being fed, love both forms. Hope the cards look just as amazing.

Some really cool new forms. Some of my thoughts:

Big lol at the 570 base stat total Delibird with the 136 (!) speed stat.

As expected the new Hydreigon is faster, which is good. Nerfed attack and newfound stealth rock weakness is not so good.

Salamence is about as magnificently gruesome as expected, they memed the speed a bit but there is no Alakazam in this game. One dragon dance and it’s gonna be good night to everything. Uber.

All in all I’m surprised some of these aren’t even more overpowered than they are. Vintage Volcarona looks like an inferior Heracross, neither of the Donphans are particularly awe-inspiring and the Amoongus loses Regenerator and defensive typing in exchange for a weird attack boost, wonky speed tier and subpar stab combo. I’m guessing the chlorophyll-esque abilities and yet to be revealed movepools will make up for that in some instances.

Gallade on the other hand is looking like a total monster. 130/120 offences with 116 speed and fighting/fairy dual stab?! Ridiculous. The Hariyama is looking fierce as well, almost Giratina defense coming of a 140 attack stat and, if it’s like the original, perfect coverage to make up for that good but vulnerable stab combo.

Also…he kinda has kaiju vibes. This whole generation has insane amount of Super Sentai inspiration (bisharp gets a third evo. Duck looks like a guy in a super sentai monster costume and etc.)
