Whether or not they call it a regional variant, that thing is very clearly inspired by Diglett, right down to the name lol. Not sure how i feel about that, seeing as diglett already received an Alolan form.
I feel like they need to stop making new Pokemon. Theres already like 1000+ including regionals. They should probably just use what they have and focus those resources on other aspects of the game imo. Its just too much at a point, especially when we consistently see the same fraction of those Pokemon so regularly + new forms, etc. They arent even including all of them in the games anymore. Whats the point?

Expanding the intellectual property (IP) is the top priority. Not all Pokemon will be fan favorites. Some will hit and some will miss. However, each generation tends to bring a handful of new, exciting, Pokemon that lock the youngest generation into their IP while also catering to their older crowd.

Both the name and design remind me of parodies kids would draw in middle school to make fun of Pokemon lol.
That said, I absolutely adore this thing’s goofy-ass design and name.

Fair, but doesn’t it seem like there’s gonna be a limit to that? They’ve been adding, at times, a hundred+ Pokemon every couple years. Are we gonna hit 5000+? I think there’s more impactful ways to expand IP and hook new generations; surely, little Tommy Jr. will be happy with one of the thousand already existing ones.
As stated in the Pokérap, there are at least 150 or more to see.

In all honesty, I see no problem with expansions. There are millions of animals, insects, crustaceans, etc. in the world and that diversity is what makes Earth special. 150, 1,500, or 15,000, I will still love learning about new Pokemon and making memories (e.g., through the games, cards, anime/movies, or events with y’all).

Seeing as it took 25+ years to hit 1000, who knows 
But to seriously answer your question, new Pokémon designs are arguably the most exciting part of a new game. I can’t imagine a main game having no new Pokémon in it.
The formula does seem to differ for this gen with 3 story paths to take, the open world aspect, and the multiplayer element which hasn’t been shown too much yet. They also proved they were at least considering new “main” Pokémon games with Legends Arceus (which was a massive success). Its probably copium, but when the next Nintendo console comes out, I think they will be able to do much more with the games.

I preordered ScVi from pokemon center JP for those sweet, sweet preorder bonuses… does anyone have any experience with how quickly they ship? As long as the game arrives at my proxy tomorrow, on release day, ill be happy. Just dont want to wait too too long to play the game, but i guess thats the risk u take when u preorder a game from the other side of the world

I always love partaking and/or monitoring the pre-meta OU. This one is crazy, every match feels like I’m watching hyper offence in mid gen ubers, despite the addition of some really good new stallers.
Instant recovery moves have been nerfed to 8PP, booster energy held item on Paradox mons, 2x boost when Terastalizing into your original stab, half the stallers are not in this gen. A lot of lethal new moves like Shed tail, Salt Cure, Fillet Away, Revival Blessing, Tera Blast and Last Respects.
Gamefreak did something I’ve been wanting for years, defense boost on Ice types during Snow (yes, Snow.) Is it a good idea to do it this gen? We’ll have to wait and see.
All in all, it doesn’t look like the pace has slowed at all but this is still much cooler than Dynamaxing.

Yea, it arrived at my proxy around midnight last night (was around 2pm JP time i think?). I tried to ship it out as fast as possible with express processing and shipping, but i dont think itll be processed until Monday, sadly lol. Ive been actually hearing some great things about the games, so im pretty excited!! Also, did you guys see they shipped out in special starter themed boxes? I got the quax box lol
