- Generic “Artist Sketch Card”
- Copying another artist’s work
- Only sketching recently-hyped cards with no connection to the signing artist
- Generic personalization
It’s the unfortunately logical outcome of signed cards being worth what they are, but this is just such a blatant and cringey attempt to cobble together a card which will sell for a lot of money.

Surprised he is even drawing pokemon i dont remember him sketching any pokemon at the legends expo signing so why start now.
Money is the key answer.
However, he really went off and did many great sketches this event.
I decided to get one from this event, and have to say its a 100% improvement over what he did at legends expo.
Here are a few examples that were posted. He really outdid himself with other I saw as well.

Honestly, it’s obviously presented as a joke (ie similar to the Drake equation) but fundamentally it does capture a lot of high-level relevant points.
There is a baseline value to any miscut that correlates with the degree of miscut. The value is going to be typically at least the value of the regular cut card. Popular pokemon do add a multiplier. But the “targeted buyer” variable is completely unquantifiable and basically a “it’s worth how much someone is willing to pay for it” variable
