I’m not a fan of displaying cards on a phone case. I think it’s a little cringey.
But if I were a kid or teen in 2025, I would probably do it.

Due to growing up in bad neighborhoods the first thing I thought was someone is about to get robbed.
While I don’t think it’s cringe it is not for me.
I like to look at my cards pulling them out of my binder in my room or looking at them in the sun to see that sweet japanese texture.

My post wasn’t meant to suggest that I would do it if I was younger because I wouldn’t be self-conscious. I find it cringey. It has nothing to do with how other people perceive it, but just a reflection of my opinion.
If I was a kid or a teen in 2025, I might have a different opinion. Maybe I would have wanted to do it if it were possible in the 1990s or 2000s - I really don’t know.

Many of my friends with clear phone cases often stash tickets, gum wrappers, photos, etc behind their phone cases. Some also happen to have their favorite pokemon card too! On top of my head I can think of one who has a snorlax, one who has a sylveon. In my opinion there’s nothing cringey about it.
But if you go out of your way to buy a customized phone case with a clear sleeve attached to it for the sole purpose of displaying the card I think it’s doing a little too much and bordering on cringe.

Does anyone actually have one of those toploader phone cases? Just realised I can use it for ID and some cash instead of the MagSafe wallet which is falling off all the time.

Cringe is a social emotional response informed by your understanding of the norms of society. Stay shackled if it’s more comfortable for you 
I like this idea but it also makes me think that thisoght just give a thief one more reason to steal a phone, ecpessially if there’s a expensive card in it

I’m genuinely shocked that so many people like it. I have never wanted to decorate my phone case with a Pokemon card.
Then again, I keep aspects of my personality, beliefs, or interests to myself in public spaces (e.g., no car decals, no laptop decals, etc.). This isn’t because I am scared or self-conscious of reactions, but because I am a private person, prefer to blend in, and enjoy the look of phones, laptops, cases etc. without decals.

By way of conparison, i once had a huge Pokemon Go Team Instinct Zapdos decal across my back window saying “THERE IS NO SHELTER FROM THE STORM”. As subtle as a brick to the face.

Cringe is also a useful tool. You open more doors for yourself and unshackle as you adhere to the social norms of the in-crowd.
