This was posted on Twitter last week, wild.
Probably few people will share and risk ruining their own chance to get the card. The winners are quick to block anyone who made rude requests or suspected of flipping the card.
If it’s like other art academy it’s prob 100 copies and dependent on winner to sell
Very impressive grades!
And the only graded copies from winners Ginga & Gogotake.
Amazing! I wonder where are the other cards that were Q’d for grading. Wonder if he sold them already.
Seeing this hurts me.
Sounds like they were not graded, could be wrong!
The big sharks gonna swallow the Ginga and Gogotake Pikachu.
The only pieces missing in their AA collection.
How much do you think these would go for? I really like Space Pikachu!
Not graded yet will be soon
I heard PSA is grading Art Academy cards again. Let’s see how the total PSA-graded population changes. I plan to crossgrade my two AA Pikachu cards (from BGS and CGC to PSA).
Funny how things work out sometimes — I just picked up a graded PSA Pokémon Art Academy card. When I first got into the hobby during COVID, these cards were never really on my radar. They were crazy expensive, whether raw or graded, and almost impossible to get unless you knew the original artists. Back then, I couldn’t imagine ever owning one. But over time, I started to appreciate just how unique and rare they are — and now here I am, with one in my collection, something I never thought would happen.
I had some time this morning and made a spreadsheet to show the ranking of the rarest graded art academy cards as of today.
What Art academy did you get?
Nice sheet! I personally love Art Academy cards and have several of them myself. Another one is going in soon!
However, the pop isn’t totally accurate, since several have been regraded. For example, you can remove at least two Kyogre from the list (one PSA 8 and one BGS 9).
And I thought Phanpy graded all of his 100 cards with BGS (several have been regraded with PSA obviously), but the BGS POP is hard to follow..
Honestly I can’t remember where I read that, maybe on e4
? I thought I understood that the winner had even numbered their slabs. But I think I’ve only ever seen one numbered slab, vaguely remember seeing a number 56 on one slab. I’ll try to find where I saw that. But yeah, I always found it really strange, so I’m probably wrong!
There was also the #56 but can’t access that old Ebay sale (and it looks like it was an ungraded card) :
1 out of 100 is in reference to how many were distributed to the winner and should exist in the population. Of course, we know that additional copies seeped into the market, just like any trophy card.
It’s possible that the owner has sold other copies and numbered them in some way (some graded, some not graded), but this would be new knowledge to me.
