New Pikachu Full Art Trophy Cards

Nice to see you got the Vs Wind back in your collection. The new full arts are really nice compared to the artwork they were using for far too long.

@smpratte is the Pika helping the Wind Psyducks to psydock??

No, but Jailor Serry is at the helm!

Actually I never sold the card, which is probably the best sale I had someone back out on ever.

Oh really well if I had known that I wouldve made an offer a long time ago.

I have only ever seen 1 other copy of the VS Tropical Wind over the years. I was even offered that copy from a guy in Hong Kong for peanuts but settled with other semi-rare trophy cards

Interesting apparently 2 No. 4 have been sold, 2 No. 2 have been sold, with 2 looking for buyers, as well one No. 3 now on the marketplace.

I think you have a typo.. There is nothing semi-rare about the 2001 wind. This wind only had about 24 copies distributed, which is less than 98 pikas and other high end trophy cards.

Semi-rare trophies or “prize” cards typically have hundreds-a thousand printed. The university magikarp had 1,000 copies printed, but only hundreds remain.

Also, I don’t know another collector who has this card. I know other collectors with every other major trophy card.

Yes that’s what I wanted to make clear, that the card is very rare… and that I was stupid buying semi-rare cards instead of the tropical wind from the guy haha

That wind is one of those cards when I see it I literally think, “how in the hell did I get this”.

Oh and @pokemontrader the people selling the new English trophies want either outlandish prices and/or are not entirely sure if they want to sell. David Persin who typically gets all of them couldn’t get a 1 & 3, even with exceptional offers.

Out of 6 people nobody wanted to sell their copy even for a very good offer?.. poor David Persin

Do you think next year’s trophy will be cheaper since this was the first year the new design was introduced? Do you know what David paid his copies?

How many total of each place we’re produced?

Scott I am actually thinking bi might take the plunge next year and buy a trpphy.

If there’s anything we saw this year with the new design, it’s that literally all the matters in determining early prices is “does the winner want to sell.”

so atm Scott brought one of the no 2 who picked up the other ones then? very surprised they are selling fast already lol

David got a Number 2 as well.
Alex Croxton is actively taking offers still.
Jeudy keeps saying he wants to sell and contacting me, then not responding after I get back to him. So I don’t even know what’s going to happen with all of that business.

ah ok though Scott got Jeudy’s number 2 very shocked to see that one didnt leave yet also guessing Sejun didnt want to sell his No.1 yet

Scott didn’t buy Jeudy’s Number 2.

I’m glad it belongs to a collector. He was so indecisive that we just stopped dealing with him altogether. Haha

I’d never paid much attention to the text on the English trophy cards. I just noticed how much it reads like a legal disclaimer: "If you won … "

I guess they don’t want collectors who buy these cards to show up at the events and say, “OK, here I am with the trophy card. I’m ready to participate in this year’s event.”

(Seriously, it’s kind of sad that the even the world of the Pokemon TCG has become mired in legalese. I highly doubt any non-playing collector would try to use their cards to gain a seat at a tournament.)
