I’m just starting to collect gold stars, and I’m having a hard time finding information on this one. Anyone know it’s approximate value? I see one recent sold listing for like $600-650ish and one active listing for $775. Someone wants to trade two of my ex dragon blisters for their Mewtwo gold star psa 10. Worth it? I’ve heard mixed responses from some friends. Some say gold stars are in such a high demand their population reports are increase so much, while others say they’re still really valuable. Any advice? Anyone know the cards value? Thanks so much
600-650 is around the market value for them right now
I believe I’m the person to have bought the most recent on eBay - I did however use their 10% off offer over the weekend on it! Think I ended up paying around 530dollars after that 10% off
Hope this helps
I agree that the cards value right now is anywhere from 600-700. I think 700 is a little high. In terms of your trade, I would keep the blisters you have, especially if they are mint condition.
The blisters aren’t mint, they’re pretty dinged up lol. I’m keeping my mint ones. Before that one buyer bought them all for $300+ on eBay, they sold regularly for $80. I heard the collector just needed a full set of ex dragon blisters and so he bought them at whatever price. You think one dude buying them all for 400% their value can change the price?
if they aren’t mint I would definetly go through with the trade. Best of luck!
Gold stars will always be valuable. They are 1 in 72 booster packs. That is an incredibly low pull rate with the already low production of that whole EX era of cards. My prediction is gold stars will see steady growth over time, but who knows (:
I’d argue the Mewtwo is way more liquid and retains its value just as well as the blisters… so I’d go for it.
There will always be deviations in a population of sales prices for a specific item. Depending on an individual’s experience and understanding of the market that information can definitely be misinterpreted. Those three blisters sold on May 26th, June 1st and June 3rd at $300, $320 and $350, respectively. The same seller has one currently listed at $350 which has gone unsold and subsequently relisted. Have those sales created a new market value? If they did, why hasn’t the other blister sold given the scarcity and popularity of EX era sealed product right now? There is a lot of other data that can be gathered besides sold listings that are just as useful when determining a market value for an item that does not sell regularly.
You must unlearn what you have learned.
