I am simultaneously happy and sad that they have done this Secret Rare chance in a deck. Happy because I think it actually makes Decks somewhat interesting to me, and I like the idea of an exclusive card that is actually different.(Alternative holo patterns are boring).

Sad because I will probably start spending more money ;___;

The Japanese alternate holo’s in the decks are amazing! English “sharded” alternates are nothing special, but the recently Cosmos holo’s I prefer over the bw stripes. Not a fan of the new mirror boarder thingy. And I love the energy style of the frlg reverses. Incorporating a pattern of logo’s would be great. Maybe the set logo? Ooo :blush:

I always thought if they included the Pokémon lines that had Japanese alternate arts, and put those in the theme decks as Black Star Promos, that that would make them more desirable. Like Mystic Typhoon’s Spheal. Could have been this one.

have only seen 1 person pull it by luck if its a secret rare should be abit of a hassle to get it

Just pulled one from a booster, it was upside down for some reason, still looking for the actual rate from packs (other than the 1 in 6 decks). I’m going with super low (unable to be any more/less vague) as last time I checked there is only one on eBay for sale. On a personal note though I really like the added physical detail of the card, it’s like twice as thick now.

@undoneplane They’re actually pretty easy to get out of English packs, relatively speaking. They’re quite rare, about 1 per 3 booster boxes or so, but with the amount of Phantom Forces packs being opened there are lots floating around, with tons on eBay. It’s the same pull rate as a secret rare. I picked up 2 within a week of the sets release. The way harder one to get is the Japanese one, as you have to buy a theme deck case to be guaranteed one. Those are not only expensive, but pretty hard to find.

I opened 12 decks (bought 2x case) and didn’t pull one.

RIP in pieces.
