Ludkins “live document” show n tell

Standard service

I can pretty much already tell that this thread is going to be a shitshow of misinformation and misunderstanding, so I guess I might as well get involved now before my DMs blow up and someone has an emotional meltdown:

  1. If you sent during or in the immediate aftermath of PSA’s literal shutdown between March and May, your initial processing is not going to be indicative of anything other than the chaos they were in.

  2. The speed at which your order gets to Research and ID is mostly independent of the submission speed you submit at below like, 5-day turnarounds. The processing speed mostly takes place between R/ID and Assembly. The later stages are impacted by PSA’s current processing power, as those later stages are staffed by populations more vulnerable to coronavirus.

  3. Please keep in mind that this type of thread only really has the potential to attract and create feedback loops of negativity. Predictably, no one is sharing their good turnaround times. No one is sharing when we get lucky. So the thread disproportionately represents the misfortune of PSA’s current debacle instead of providing any reasonable data to work off of.

  4. What the platinum service is has changed three times within the range of what people are posting here. So people are posting different tiers with PSA, different price points that they paid for them, and under different submission circumstances with PSA. We don’t even submit them the same way. We now send all 20 and 5 day submissions directly to our account rep so that they are logged faster than through the generic warehouse. Because PSA dropped the ball so hard on our 20-days in May-July, we actually discontinued an entire service level, increased the price, and submitted at a higher tier under the name Platinum in hopes that it would work out more accurately to what PSA advertises for lower tiers. So if you paid $30+/card, expect it to go faster than people who paid $16.50/card. This is by design because our old tier was not performing anymore like it was when we used it at the beginning of the year.

IIRC when I submitted for the may special charlie said on the special thread that the turnaround time was going to be difficult to predict because of PSA backlog. I think if anyone has tears they probably just had improper expectations. Gold service is pretty much a 6 month turnaround from registration date, and thats fine even if it goes longer than that; I only paid $9 a card anyways and only $7.50 for the bulk order which I always figured would be a year minimum.

@funmonkey54, perhaps this type of thread can head that direction, but I would like to thank you for your patience and hard work in providing the service you do. I know comparing submission times is only going to result in disappointment when someone else has a slower turnaround; especially that PSA has probably gotten even busier as time has gone on. But I don’t think anyone should or has the right to criticize ludkins for long turnarounds as that is entirely in PSA’s hands.

And here is my 25 day sub which has registered

Im expecting the email any day that my 25 day is back, i was told its about a 3 month average and that sometimes ludkins will get the card back while the live document shows grading. As for my 45 day ones im not holding my breath, i am expecting 5 months as the fastest but thinking for them to be back within 6.5 months would make sense

It was never my intention to spread negativity, if at any point things turn south i expect this threat to get locked and i wont have any issue with that. My sole intention was to see if any patterns arise for live documents showing any insights into processing speeds. Im enjoying looking at the data and to put a positive note into the thread, one of my recent 45 day subs flew up to R&ID so i guess PSA is on the rebound. I have good hopes that their recent service level changes will really make it better for us. It might cost more but other options are available for cheap grading. CGC is beginning to look like an option for bulk

Sorry this was supposed to tag charlie as the first part of this was quoted from churlocker

Even if it goes negative, threads like this should remain open. Where else can you get an objective view of how things are actually moving?

Blowout maintains threads like this for psa/bgs and larger dealers

Blowout also lost their dealership agreement over their forums, so maybe that’s not the best indication of how we should proceed. lol

without people like ludkins we literally wouldn’t even have cgc grading and people like myself would probably not be able to grade at either company and would have to resort to … BGS :0

Pretty pleased with the progress. This is my submission for the quarterly $7.50 special PSA ran, so basically a bulk submission. Unfortunately it’s been snagged in grading for about two months but it’s still making progress considering the submission tier. I do believe this submission is probably more the exception than the rule.

PSA>BGS>CGC

Right but e4 is not a dealer, you are closer to pcsportscards in relation to this forum right?

Nah b

bgs is good for flipping NM cards into mint magically though

Which service did you use? Bulk or gold?

Heres one of my subs, actually my first sub ever. I originally made the the sub hoping i would possibly get the cards in September LOL… i subbed on the gold/45 day level. Im thinking if i get them by February its an ok pace, everything i now know considered.

Keep in mind im not dissatisfied, in fact ive been subbing more than ever. Im excited for the returns! I try to sub biweekly so that i can eventually get returns biweekly.
