Raichu prima was amazing
I like Pikachu more than most but there’s been like 30 Pikachu cards in the XY era alone and it’s starting to get annoying. They can stop for a bit. Really.

Wow this actually surprised me… why not raichu EX, makes literally zero sense, if they are gonna do this then they might as well scrap rai and change it to mega pika instead… despite my hate of the fact it’s a real thing I actually love the art for it, so it’s a love hate with this one for me.
Actually makes 100% sense since a Pikachu EX will make more money.

I didn’t mean it like profit sense for the company I more was saying from poor ol’ raichu’s point of view haha, it doesn’t even have an ex card where the letters are capital, maybe I’m biased cos I like raichu alot though 
Edit: forgot it did get lvl x and a prime card but just checked bulbapedia and if it’s correct then the last set it was in was furious fists, it just deserves some love!

People on a bunch of boards have been outraged by how “neglected” Raichu is after this card was announced and I just find it so cute. Neglected is a Pokemon who hasn’t appeared in the TCG in YEARS, not one that’s had three prints in the XY era alone lol.
The perception of Raichu being neglected is skewed because Pikachu is shoved down our throats constantly. Relatively, Raichu is neglected.

He is neglected! Raichu has been my #1 since day one and I’ll probably be dead before they make a Mega one!! It’ll be in set XY550930 Expansion Legendary Lightning V4 with the way they’re diluting the brand and just printing more and more of the same cards.

They didn’t need to make another Raichu after they made Shining Raichu. That should have retired the Pokemon.
I mean… I guess. All I can say though is that I wish any of my favorite neglected Pokemon had the 40+ card anthology that Raichu has. (Raichu is actually tied with Rayquaza at #3 for the most cards overall after Pikachu… and Unown, who is the most extenuating of circumstances because it took them three different waves of printing an Unown card for each letter before they realized they didn’t HAVE TO DO THAT.)
