I disagree. The e-series is one of my favorites, but the issue wasn’t releasing two cards with the same stats on them. It was releasing two cards that looked exactly the same. With a FA, you get different art, different texture, and overall just different appeal. The FA isn’t really like the e-series incident of releasing the exact same card with a holofoil film. Feel free to levy that analogy against the success of the english promo market, though! Because it’s definitely killing the english promo collecting scene, if it’s not already dead.
