the unlimited korean pop for clefairy and zard are nearly 1:1 in the psa chart
Drew, of course it’s a population report. The joke is that people call it a popularity report because more popular cards are submitted and therefore pop reports index the popularity of cards and not the actual rarity, as papafrankgod said. Nobody here believes that pop report is shorthand for popularity report.
The point that I was making is that no species is more likely to get printed than another one, as Pokemon set cards are printed on sheets and equally distributed. When there are differences, as seen in the 1st ed Charizard and Clefairy pops, it’s due to popularity, not because one is printed more than the other.
Regarding Korean unlimited, yes these are rare and niche cards. At the moment, I don’t think much can be gleaned from the pop report beyond that very few have been graded in total.
This conversation reminds me of this thread, and how very niche cards can sometime present themselves as very rare cards. In this case, Korean Unlimited is both very niche and very rare, but the effect on the pop report is identical (i.e., low pops).
I won’t argue that the 1st ed number is an outlier in that pop report. I understood the joke. However, the unlimited numbers match each other pretty consistently.
Korean unlimited is very unique. I don’t know if anyone has seen a booster box. There are hardly any booster packs. I have tried to get my WOTC connection to post in their alumni FB group, no answers there.
Yes, I agree with you that Korean Unlimited is probably rare based on these pop report numbers. It reminds me of E1 Unlimited and Unlimited e-Starter Deck Japanese cards.
But just as those cards saw a modest increase in pop after more attention was paid to them by Japanese locals and Western buyers, this could also occur if folks in Australia are tipped off to their rarity.
For your sake, I hope more packs/cards are found!
I know that the pop report isn’t absolute data on how many cards are out there. I just don’t think that there will be a flood of them that makes a dent in the market. I am prepared to eat my words for my sake.
There’s not some untapped source of Korean unlimited cards here in Australia unfortunately!
15 years of watching the market and only 7 packs have ever come up for sale here, I was lucky enough to win 4 of them!
I fully believe both of you!
I am just hoping that some exposure on e4 or with auctions/BINs will somehow let others fall out of the cracks.
With E1 Unlimited Japanese, the pops slowly increased from let’s say 1-3 to 5-10. From a collector’s perspective, this is a massive increase because it suddenly means that 2x or 3x more collectors can obtain these cards than previously could. Absolutely huge for species collectors.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed for y’all that love Korean Unlimited Base!
This is my experience too
I just need a Korean pokemon flute 1st Ed please and thank if anyone has one
Oh my god
Low popping has a 1st ed PSA 10 Korean raticate for sell if you are interested in it.
Wow are you referring to base set unlimited Korean booster packs? Do you have any pictures? I wasn’t sure they existed…
Gradedpower told me through ebay messages that they were never made available to the public, and that he acquired his holos from a former WOTC employee. His full base set holo set is listed for $50k…
(btw I joined elite forum just to respond to this post)
Awesome! Thanks for sharing.
Any chance you pulled a venusaur you’re willing to share
I was finally able to obtain one of these thanks to the help on here! Thanks so much everyone for your help and engagement
Your nick is “unlucky” but you dont really understand how LUCKY YOU ARE
So beautiful
And it’s only $50k along with the rest of the base set holos…
Considering the rarity, its surprisingly cheap IMO!
