Kanto Power Collection Availability

Like many people, I’m hoping to pick up some Evolutions packs at MSRP. I realize that preorders for the upcoming Kanto Power Collection are completely sold out everywhere online.

So, what are the prospects for getting these in person at big box retailers like Target and Walmart? I don’t have any experience with going to brick and mortar retailers on the day of a Pokemon product release. Do these big retailers usually lag behind online retailers for new products like these? Or, if all the online stores are stating a release date of 10/30, then is it reasonable to assume Target and Walmart will receive them and stock them on their shelves that very same day?

Just figured I’d ask to see if anyone has experience with these sorts of releases. Thanks.

Big box stores are very much hit or miss. Sometimes they have a great selection and have new products, sometimes they carry very little product, and sometimes scalpers get there first and buy everything out. It is definitely worth a shot, but if you absolutely must have the product, then I would suggest having a backup plan.

If it’s anything like champions path, then the stores around me will never receive any of these boxes. I just hope I actually get my preorders.

Will these be released online anywhere on release day ?

@squirtle1000, I messaged a couple eBay sellers and they got them from walmart

Interesting, thanks for the info. I actually called my local Walmart and Target last night, and both said they didn’t have the product and didn’t think they’d get it.

So maybe it’s a regional thing. I ended up buying a bunch of these at inflated prices on eBay. I paid an average of $70 a box, which is more than I wanted, but in the long run probably not a bad deal.

My local WM doesn’t even sell Pokémon cards anymore and my target said they only got two

None at any of my local walmarts or targets. womp womp
