You gotta be kidding me… I just can’t do that. I imported my charizard and they only charged me 60 bucks and that was claimed at 4,000usd… Why would it be 330!!! Wtf!
Edit: sorry I won’t be using the broker… Last time I did it all myself with the forms and shit… I see what your saying but I wouldn’t be doing the broker thing.
This is crippleing info for sure man, I have checked a bunch of places and everyone has said the same thing with the same experience… But I hope they miss it on mine, but I don’t think they will because the tracking numbers on both of them are showing the exact same activity

You can’t deal directly with customs so a middleman/broker has to be used.
My mate just imported a desk worth $1100 and end up paying $350 in duty and tax and fees.
Since we are on the topic, Question for the Aussie’s, are you guys able to vote for or against import duties? I know here lowering income tax is something politicians use to allure voters, curious if that occurred there for import duties. $350 for a $1100 item is pretty steep.

ohh maybe because that shit was heavy?? i dunno… Thats really wierd, but when I picked up my charizard they didnt give it to me they gave me a form at the post office. I then printed outa form after contacting the people that were on the form they gave me. I filled out tariff number thingy which I cant remember what was, and really like to know because now Im going to have to look through that massive pdf file they provided, and find what tarriff number best suits collectables!!! ANyway, after i printed and filled out form, i then scanned and sent to them the form by email. They got back to me after the weekend, and they sent me a link to a government website to login and pay 60 dorraz… Then they sent me the tracking number the next day because they shipped it back to melbourne the poo faces. SOOOOO I’m just at awe right now about this 350 dollars, and its starting to scare me, because Im not sure why charizard was 60, the chair was 350, and who knows what these 2 items im getting will be.
Here is the import thingy from charizard that I got to print out after i payed everything and had to show it to them at post office to pick it up: I digged it out earlier today so I could see if i could find the tariff number so I dont have to do so much work when I get this stupid notice at the post office… BUT as you can see, its quite blank -.-

No we can’t. Both major parties want to lower the threshold from $1000AU to $0. Meaning we would be taxed on all imports.
There is a current push from the government to achieve this by July 2017. The issue is how are they going to enforce it, because it will create significant workload for Australia Post it seems. I think they’re looking to impose a UK model which will significantly hurt us collectors.

Yeah, a lot of our bricks and mortar stores are furious people shop online, where we get things for a reasonable price. So they practically lobbied the government.
Government gets a huge tax grab out of it, so win win. Only person who suffers is the people.

It’s ridiculous the amount of waste that goes on. I understand some of these people (politicians etc) put in massive hours and work hard for their insanely high salaries, but when they cut the guts out of everything, take helicopter rides from melbourne to geelong and then have the GAUL to claim they deserve a $300 000+ per year pension for sitting in their mansions which they get massive tax breaks for (loophole living away from home rubbish), I get a little frustrated. 5x the average income (10xminimum wage) for doing nothing is a joke. Then the dogs tell people that if they want more money to just open the paper and get one of those better jobs that pay 200000 a year that are always advertised.
