Japanese “Lottery”€ ecard promo 2002

Hi. Just wondering anybody had some background information on these cards. I’m looking to expand my collection from base/vending series. The e-series as whole I don’t have a lot of knowledge around. But from what I understand these were a limited run promo? Do any of you have them? Thanks

@gen1a, heres a chat sheet right from the bulbapedia page:

“…and was one of three cards available as part of the Starter Triple Get Campaign . The Starter Triple Get Campaign required people collect 3 proof of purchase seals from Pokémon-e Starter Decks (only 1 was present on each deck), and send them to the Pokémon Company affixed to a postcard. Five lotteries were held during the campaign period, which ran from December 1, 2001 until April 30, 2001. 2,000 sets of cards were distributed to drawn entrants in each lottery, making a total of 10,000 sets available. 5,000 of these were Red Green Course sets, which contained this card, Venusaur, and Blastoise. The other 5,000 were Gold Silver Course sets, containing Meganium, Feraligatr, and Typhlosion. The lotteries were held on December 31, 2001; January 31, 2002; February 28, 2002; March 30, 2002; and April 30, 2002.”

I have the Johto starters of these promos myself and really enjoy them. Definitely a cool little niche type of deal thing to grab if looking!

I agree. Always thought it was too bad that the style of the Blastoise didn’t match the others, though.

These are fairly rare, but awesome looking promos! The Gen2 promo starters are also great. It detracts a bit from their overall collector appeal that they are holographic reprints from the e-series starter deck, and then later was released as non-holo rares in Expedition on the English side. Lots of great cards to collect in the Japanese p-promo series though. If you want something more unique, look up the rally promos (P42-P47).
