Im so excited for the new pokemon movie soon but not sure if im more excited for the movie or this promo card haha. Anyone else going?
I swear to god, i might buy 2 cinema tickets just to get 2 promo cards. Keep one and sell the other lol this card in psa 10 will be worth tons in years to come im betting. Im taking my plastic wallets/toploaders with me to put it straight into one lol
Single distribution cards tend to be worth alot later, plus this is part of the pikachu illustrator series. I just have a gut feeling itll be worth alot later
If you don’t really want to go see the movie then just look on eBay…they’re already starting to be listed for sale there as theaters are getting them early to prep for the 11/5 movie release. A friend of mine is sending me two of these this week but I also bought tickets for my girlfriend and I to actually see the movie in a couple weeks, lol. 
That said, this card will only be worth anything a decade from now if they’re actually limited in number…if they’re printed en masse like past Pokemon movie promo cards then these will be worth nothing but pennies on the dollar.

I just bought one off ebay for ÂŁ20, woulda been cheaper to get a second ÂŁ10 ticket from the show but only abroad listings are available. Hence the ÂŁ10 postage. Im not bothered by the cost, i feel bettet having one i can keep and one to sell later.
Some advice. This card will probably not be worth ÂŁ20 again for an extremely long time. You have just paid a premium to get an early copy of the card. The movie releases November 5 in the US; a few weeks after that, this card will drop to a few dollars, maybe even under a dollar. It will probably sit there for a long time. This is trend for newly released cards in general.
You say you’re not bothered by cost but if your goal is to sell, you are going to sell at a loss. If you’re happy with your purchase, I’m glad but I’m just trying to say that sometimes a little patience can pay off.

It won’t take weeks to drop to a few dollars…it’ll likely hit $5 or less in the 72 hours after 11/5, lol. Everyone in North America who bought a ticket to see the screenings in 2 weeks will get one and you can bet the Pokemon Company printed tens of thousands of these to more than meet ticket sales/the demand to see the movie…
I hope this isn’t printed in ridiculous numbers like movie promo cards of generations past, but I am not at all optimistic about it…I would LOVE to be proven wrong though and to find out that maybe theaters ran out of cards to give out, etc. We’ll find out soon enough.

Yeah, it’s hard to say exactly what it will drop to or how quickly but unless were seeing an extremely limited supply, the trend will hold. But honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if they drop to $0.25 each. They are probably predicting a lot of moviegoers
Previous movie promos were distributed in the thousands of thousands if not millions lol. Unlike previous major releases (Pokémon- The First Movie/ Pokémon 2000), this movie has only 2 days of showings, at least in FL. This might mean that the release might be more limited than previous movie promos. I personally could care less whether the card increases in value or not. I am more excited to go to the movie and get a movie promo card like the old days lol.

As I told you in your other threads we’re here to help. Don’t make impulse buys on things you know nothing about… Unless it’s super scarce and a must have in your personal collection.
There will be a gazillion copies of this… worth less than the cost to grade it in PSA 10. Smh.

The description says for cards you will also have soon: “Post new items you’ve added to your collection or hope to add soon.”

There’s nothing wrong with paying a premium for a card you want to get your hands on early. But if you’re doing it as an investment strategy, you’re going to have a bad time.

He’s just impatient… and he has very little knowledge. He bought a base pack recently and asked if he could only pull Charizard in a Charizard Art pack?
I told him he will receive plenty of guidance here if he asks questions, but anyway… As long as he enjoys his purchases. It’s not like he’s doing mistakes on high dollar items.(yet) lol
Everyone was new at one point. Ray will learn. Sometimes people learn best the hard way

@gottaketchumall It does seem like a 2 day thing in Canada as well. So it’s going to be limited, but I’m assuming they will still be printing a stockpile of these cards. Anyone knows in how many theaters it’s releasing in North America?

Lol one of them promo cards im keeping and the other i might sell. I probably should of waited but the one i just bought ill keep, the free one from the cinema ill sell if it increases in value. Im a complete greenhorn when it comes to cards, im not gonna lie. This forum seems like the best place to learn and grow.
FYI, the booster pack i bought in the other the other thread is because i wanted it, not to sell it on.
