how can I cancel a non paid item after 48hrs?

buyer has not responded to several messages and I want to sell to fund another buy

Tough spot to be in. As you know, if you need immediate funds utilize the immediate payment option.
Sadly, now you just have to wait till the probable stiff runs out of time:(

Yeah I know that if I cancel even with my open non paying buyer request, I dont get the sizable final value fee back. If I cancel stating the customer asked me to do so, I don’t really know what happens. I assume he can just negate that if he wanted to

My eBay > Selling > Find listing > drop-down menu under awaiting payment? > cancel

haha thanks but I meant how can I avoid being forced to still pay the final value fee, which I am told still applies in some cancels

Nobody can make you sell if you don’t want to, the worst they can do is leave negative, often times they don’t.

Generally, if I don’t think they’re going to buy I relist and sell, if it sells and they end up paying I message them saying the item is out of stock and refund them. This rarly happens and most people just get the unpaid item case closed on them. It’s harder for you if you actually message them asking for payment, to follow this pattern. I would just cancel the order and if they message you point to the lack to communication and appologize, which again they probably won’t ever message you.

Get an unpaid item case closed on them. Otherwise talk to an eBay rep, I know people say that eBay is there to protect sellers, but on the phone for situations involving their own fee system they’d rather just not charge you the fees and credit you back to your account.
