Getting around to making a collecting thread to keep a log of my pickups and progress. I’ve always enjoyed looking through full sets and I find it really satisfying to work towards long term goals, so hopefully this can become a nice chronicle of that process!

I really love this Atsuko Nishida artwork with the soft background colors and the 3D look of the holo behind the bushes. With all the recent ex era price increases it felt good to find this card in great condition for a very reasonable price.
I love the eSeries cards, I’ve been trying to pick up as many reverse holo eSeries as I can at card shows. Shame that they don’t exist in Japanese, I would’ve loved to scoop some up during my next trip there.
eSeries cards are so nostalgic to me! Eventually I want to go for a full set of Skyridge but ex Dragon feels a lot more achievable to work on for the time being.
Roughly half the set. xD I’ve got a few of the bigger cards though like Dragonite ex and Rayquaza ex so it doesn’t feel quite so daunting. Gonna slowly pick up the rest when I spot good deals.
I’ve been thinking a lot recently about how Shining Fates is such a good collectors set at the moment. I managed to win this Suicune in an eBay auction [$12.50 AUD], and at the present time it’s the 2nd most expensive card in the whole set. I really love textured cards so I’m having fun working on the shiny subset for now.
The last few years I’ve been lamenting the death of a lot of forums and that late 2000s internet culture, I feel like modern social media doesn’t do nearly as good of a job at capturing the history and lived experience of a community that forums can. E4 is a special place and I love that the modern site retains everything that makes forums great while adding a lot of quality of life features.
Also thanks for adding my thread to the archive! I appreciate your work in maintaining it and I will do my best to be a worthy addition.
I think Stonjourner has become one of my favourite 8th Gen mons. Incidentally I was in Esperance Western Australia last year and visited the full scale replica Stonehenge as it would have been originally that they have there. I went not expecting much but it was actually incredibly calming and spiritual to sit quietly among massive granite pillars on a sunny afternoon.
