The wave of Prismatic hype has got me back into collecting again and I’m once again hunting my beloved Growlithe.
I had a good chunk of the cards up to Rebel Clash but with so many releases since there has been a lot to catch up on. I’ve also got a half decent binder to display them in now so before anymore cards release I thought I better document my complete (minus 2) English Growlithe set. I’m still waiting on the My First Battle card to arrive and still delaying spending more than £10 on the beautiful full art we got in Twilight Masquerade.
As for the rest of the languages available I have a spreadsheet that I’ve been trying to keep updated, if you see any missing please let me know:
I’m most interested in the languages I haven’t really touched yet. Most European languages shouldn’t be an issue thanks to Cardmarket but stuff like Thai and Indonesian I have no idea where to even begin. I also need to update the Chinese list now that there seem to consistently be two types of Mandarin releases.
@Ratequaza oh that’s good to know, thought Russian would probably end up as one of those difficult last few to find
@Kratosso yeah Cardmarket has been invaluable in me finding anything non English or Japanese, if I had the funds I could likely finish the set today but even £10 a week or so is making a dent in languages like Spanish and German.
Thai and Indonesian is looking like what will give me the most trouble, is there a market to check for that? I assume it’s gonna have to be get lucky on eBay or find someone direct.
Yeah, for Thai and Indonesian you either get lucky on ebay or have to use a parcel forwarding service to buy from Shopee Thailand and Tokopedia respectively.
I have access to WeChat Card Lists (S-Chinese) … I can give you the full list (with images) of all the Growlithe cards released in S-Chinese today later when I arrive home …
Btw, just wondering … do you collect H-Growlithe too??? and also … do you collect Arcanine/H-Arcanine as well??? … or just Kanto Growlithe???
@dromanyte I’m collecting all Growlithe, including Hisuian. Not collecting Arcanine right now though I did start that back in the day and have a hand full already.
Outside of Growlithe I’m more interested in completing WotC and some newer sets like Lost Origin and Evolutions, though I can see myself adding Arcanine to the list eventually I’ll probably only go for exclusive art rather than every single language though.
@Kratosso Got the first one and the Spanish are both in my list.
Yeah the list I have format wise is very much in progress, normally view it on PC without issues but trying to load it on my phone recently was annoying. Probably best to split the languages into pages rather than relying on filtering the language column, especially now that I’ve posted it here and I don’t think people with read access can do that on Sheets.
Thai, I also need help on for my torchics- if you find a good middleman please let me know. I have a good Indonesian middleman I can give you info for if you want (he’s a bit pricy though)!
The big pain for Thai/Indonesian is really the decks. They have a lot of randomized decks and it’s really hard to track down some of them. The only Indonesian torchic I’m still missing is out of one of these decks and short of buying a ton of them (and they’re hard to find) and hoping to get the 1/9 pull, I’m pretty much hoping for a miracle.
I can tell by looking at your list that you’re missing quite a few Thai/Indonesian cards. I can send you a list later today if you’d like.
Please do I made the list so long ago that I have no idea where I even gathered information for half of it.
As for the middleman I’ll keep it in mind, going to focus on the stuff I can get from cardmarket for now, once that drys up I’ll have to start looking into other sources.
Here’s the list. Images tend to have issues on GDocs, if they don’t work, give it a few refreshes and it’ll work.
I could be missing something, but this is what I managed to find. I also put Modern T-Chinese on here for you. Don’t know enough about the older T-Chinese cards to add them to the list, but you seem to have them on your list already.
You have a lot of Deck cards to find…I wish you the best of luck. Ironically, the missing deck I mentioned earlier for my Torchics also has a Growlithe (in the same randomization!).
Hi!!! Sorry for late reply … I’ve had a busy day …
Well, anyways … Unlike other regions, Pokémon China decided to release their card lists via WeChat (you need a WeChat account in order to have access to these card lists). The good thing is that these card lists also indicate variants … This might be useful if you’re interested in Master Collecting a species or an expansion.
To everyone who wants me to search the list of a species, trainer, etc just let me know (by tagging me somewhere or even via private message … I don’t bite … it doesn’t bother me that I’m asked to search for card lists.
That being said, let’s continue with the Growlithe card list
In total, up to 13th April 2025, Growlithe (Kanto) has 16 different cards in S-Chinese while H-Growlithe has 4 different cards in S-Chinese
Take in consideration that in the future more cards will appear. Take your precautions!!! Take in consideration that some artworks have been released more than 1 time in Mainland China (with different card numbers and different variants)
