Egypt Argentina game was a rollercoaster. Sad to see Egypt go, but huge respect to Messi/team for that insane pressure and tempo at the end.

On a whole I’m really enjoying this world cup but it really does have a bit of a “nothing ever happens meme” nearly an upset vibe.
Belgium V Senegal, Brazil V Japan, England V DR Congo, Argentina V Cape Verde, Argentina V Egypt. (I personally have Norway at a pretty similar level to 2026 Brazil so not counting that).
The bigger teams are constantly finding a way to get the job done.

As an adopted Canada fan I was desperately hoping they’d hang on against Morocco, far less scary opponent.

The quarterfinals this year are going to be wild stuff. 
Morocco gets their chance to play revenge match with France after 2022 defeat, then there’s Belgium who has improved a lot after missing multiple points in group stage.
Switzerland have already achieved their best result in modern era. Personally Norway vs England is the highlight moment, either way I’m happy one gets to play at least in 3rd place match.

I hope the French people can go to bed safely tonight no matter which outcome the match will have. But I also know that cars will be set on fire, shops will be looted and people will be harassed, beaten, stabbed or worse - no matter the outcome.

According to the news, it been quiet in the Netherlands. Not many incidents.
The match itself, was pretty good… but you could see that Morocco missed Saibari.

Caught the last 40 minutes. A little hopeless maybe but good effort from Belgium. Perhaps Garcia should’ve sent De Ketelaere back in during that pep talk, he would’ve been nice to have during those few chances they did manage to produce despite having to constantly play on the defensive.
