I’ve bitched about this before and I’ll probably bitch about it again, but it’s wildly annoying when sellers won’t provide a subjective condition description on raw listings and only say “refer to pictures for condition.” I do a lot more selling than buying, and I always give a condition estimate on every single card. Not doing so is a very transparent attempt to avoid liability, and it always strikes me as vaguely suspicious because we all know damn well how easy it is to conceal damage in photos.
Sometime last fall, I bought an Expedition Charizard for ~$400. Reviewed the photos and it looked near mint, but prior to purchase I messaged the seller to clarify that there was no significant damage on the card (specifically asked about creases or dents). The seller confirmed that there were no creases or dents. Of course, the card shows up and there’s a fat crease that was concealed by the lighting in the photos. Was able to return it because I insisted on verbal confirmation from the seller that no damage was present. I will *never* but anything from a seller who refuses to give a subjective condition estimate.
Interesting. I feel like my own idea of what “NM” is, is wildly different to what I see listed as NM.
I’ve seen listings described as NM and the photos of the card have noticeable issues with them and I would personally consider them as LP.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I used to put subjective condition descriptions on my listings, until some German guy demanded a refund (and to keep the card, lol) for a card because my description of condition didn’t fit what he expected that meant.
It took about 3 weeks and way more time than the money even warranted before it was cleared up. So that’s put me off putting condition descriptions because I would have to either put what I think the condition is, and risk the above happening, or put an intentionally harsh description and scare off buyers.
I will always offer more photos if requested, though.
“…Cool. eBay’s just gonna tell you to wait longer. Now, I have a hot latin date, and I’m not talking about chimichanga…”

The more I think about this the more my brain hurts.
Also don’t forget the 1st edition in the title and description!

Done. No doubt a scumbag would buy something like this for a quick and easy turnaround.
edit:
not sure if garbage or pure gold

To be fair it does appear to have the rare “scratch” misprint, but on the artwork of the card instead of the set symbol!!1

That Krabby is too off-center. I wouldn’t pay more than $2,750 for it.

I continue to be utterly baffled by buyers that send a lower offer immediately after their first offer is rejected. This just happened to me twice within 24 hours - 2 different buyers, 2 different cards.
I was tempted to ask the first buyer if their child’s happiness wasn’t worth $2 to them, but my desire to maintain professionalism won… this time.

The best part is he put “final offer” when you literally rejected that same exact offer minutes beforehand lol.

Not my most upstanding moment, but I once responded with “Final Denial” when someone did that to me. To be fair, he was a major pain, Kept messaging me outside of the offers too.

You can see they’re both ‘green-bayers’ so I’m not surprised they do dumb things. I once had a guy do this to me, over a couple bucks, then, I think, he went and bought a slightly more expensive one. Just to spite me? Feel the burn!
Ah! I love finding fakes of cards I wish were real… Holo English Neo Rev Kingdra, anyone?

I love this card. Forever bitter about the holos cut out of Neo Discovery and Neo Revelation. Who in charge decides a set needs fewer holos??

I do this to be petty when I believe my offer was fair and the seller is being greedy. It has never worked out in my favor.
