Do you think Pokemon should do a True Base Set Reprint?

Base set reprint is coming… as 151 set! Next, hope they continue releasing the gold star cards. We’re seriously lacking Lugia gold star :star: and other pokemons like Blastoise, Venusaur, Chansey lack gold star too!

I saw alittle hope with Greninja gold star two years ago.

What he said. :ok_hand:

My nephews watch the og anime on Netflix, I feel a lot of kids will want to see how cool the originals were

I don’t think anything would interest me less. It cheapens the original to do that. It’s nostalgic for a reason. You can’t recreate the 90’s as much as I want to. The only way to relive the excitement of base set is to buy 1999 base set.

Nah. We’re getting something similar with PkMn 151. If we want re-imagined arts, well, that’s 151. If we want full arts, but the originals, well… I think that cheapens the original, unless the exact same artists do them, which means Arita Sugimori and a few others got a lot of work to do… Honestly, Not interested with 151 coming out.

No, the Celebrations trio was enough.

And there was already Evolutions.

And there’s still the Pokemon TCG Classic coming out with even more cards from Base Set.

Let’s be honest, no one is going to care about Weedle or Dugtrio or Pokemon Flute. You just want Charizard? There are so many. Base Set 2, Legendary Collection, Stormfront as well as those 3 above.

This. No need for a straight reprint.

I think the new Pokemon 151 set is a great way to pay respects and have a fun new way for people to collect the first 151. Fresh art and touches in a way that’s still very much nostalgic.

No. Please no more base set themed releases at least until the 30th.

It’s already getting to the point where base set stuff is oversaturated. Modern pokemon releases are better than ever. They should focus more on that than dredging up old stuff for 7th or 8th or however many rehashes there have been so far.

30th is only 3 years away. Fug.

Personally I’d rather they wait until the 50th, but we know that isn’t going to happen.

Crap I’m old.

Sorry, was the 87 base set charizard reprints not enough?

If they’re going to do a 25th Anniversary for Gen 2, 2024 is the year for it

no

Not enough, it’s never enough

Full art versions I could get on board with

Hope for 30th anniversary they would reprint some gold stars like Rayquaza and Espeon, but in exact design and hologram, not dazzling holo border and none of the confetti hologram. Don’t mind a 30th stamp but make it smaller and gold foil.

And look forward to new gold stars as chase cards too, like Lugia gold star and Snorlax gold star.

Gold stars are just shiny Pokemon at the end of the day, aren’t they?

And those have returned in various forms - secret rares in BW, Shining cards in Shining Legends, Radiant cards and of course Shining and Hidden Fates.

Unless you mean, have Fukuda do them and I would give a giant meh to that.

Maybe for the 30th they’ll do a massive 1,000+ Pokemon set lol.

It just better not be Base set reprints again and please don’t reuse any of the same ones from the 25th/Celebrations.

Go knock yourself out kid.
