Is Greymon the charizard of Digimon?

Yeah Agumon was definitely the main character back in the day in the show but there’s so many crazy fusions and other things I know nothing about at this point lol

This looks promising. I haven’t really cared about Digimon in the last 15 years but they show classics of the first series on the box art including former villians, Devimon and Piedmon. They got the classic heroes of MetalGarurumon and WarGreymon as well as their fusion, Omnimon. Would like to see these in hand. The MetalGreymon card looks particularly sick.

I only collected the early Digimon cards, but it’s actually pretty cool to see all the original Digimon reprinted as cards again. Just give me HerculesKabuterimon.

I remember back in the day having to defend pokemon from digimon fans who wanted to rip on pokemon at the playground. Now I gotta do it again 20 years later. Though I would be pretty excited if their was a Skullgraymon pre-release with this set.

Think I’ll pick up a few and rip them. I loved watching this as a kid and I still have my beat up Gallantmon card haha.

Another thing to feel nostalgic about, nice.

Looks like here’s the chase.

I don’t think any digimon character was as dominantly popular as Charizard, Pikachu, etc… but relatively maybe Wargreymon = Charizard of Digimon and MetalGururumon = the Blastoise of Digimon?

Btw, the artwork on those new cards is fantastic!

Anyone remember the Digimon Frontier series? The one where the characters turned into digimon themselves? I remember this series most vividly and I actually went and rewatched it and it was awesome. Would love if they ever made cards from that series.

I’ll probably rip a box of this just for the fun of it. I have the original base set in pretty decent condition in a binder but from what I can tell it isn’t worth much. Probably not worth it at all to slab it up at least by current standards. Anyone have any feeling that this new release could boost the value of the original product from 20 years ago?

Is there a 1st edition version of the new sets? Or are all the new sets going to be unlimited.

No first edition but they will release ‘‘release special booster box’’ which comes with 1 box topper (10 alt design tamers to collect) and 1 Special Release Promotion Pack which has a pair of cards per pack ( 3 pairs to collect).

Then this is where it gets vague… with the purchase of 12 special release booster packs Ver 1.0 and you get 1 ‘‘Dash Pack Ver 1.0’’ (1 gold foil card per pack, 5 cards to collect). However, I don’t know how you actually obtain them. Can you get them when you buy a booster box or do we also have to purchase 12 boosters separately to get one pack?

The supplier I planned to get them from has no info on these Dash Packs.

Bought a Japenese Promotion pack because I was curious about the print quality and finish on BANDAI TCG products. Definitely better than I thought. The card stock feels thicker than Pokemon and the cuts and corners are sharp. However, some prints lines are pretty savage, especially on the Gatomon card.

Will PSA graded any trading cards? Was looking at getting English cards graded next year on release if possible.

Not sure I’m a big fan of the card design. Also not sure theres nearly enough people still interested in digimon for this to do particularly well long term.
