I think it has a lot of potential. They hit it home with the pokemon attitudes in the trailer and the pokemon real like animations aren’t bad at all. They use so many small pokemon detail from the gameboy game which show in the trailer poster that I think it shows a lot of potential to hit home on a whole new fan base.
I’m thinking it will do good. Reminds me of the TED comedy movie. If this can bring out some decent action and can connect with the audience then I think it will do well.

Wasn’t too keen on the game and movie but the trailer made me a little less nauseous about the talking pikachu concept.

Movie looks interesting. Immediately I thought of Ted and Paddington for some reason. Not sure about Pikachu’s voice but it was funny enough that I’m sold on it.
As someone else said, I too would have preferred something more japanese oriented, could have been the same storyline just paying a bit more tribute to Japan. Then again, its hard to say what the actual movie will deliver. I’m excited!
I’m 26 and I’m super hyped for it. I think it’s going to be one of the best movies. I love the whole concept

The CGI of the Pokemon are really cool looking. I like the realistic and slightly gritty look of everything rather than the typical cartoony cgi many would have expected. Might help bring in adults as well as kids. Probably the same reason they brought in Ryan Reynolds. I think it was a good idea going with a detective movie rather than the typical rehash of season 1 of the anime. It makes it completely unique story wise from the cartoon and the other movies.
Looks promising, can’t wait to check it out.

For sure a commercial success. I’m thinking it does at least 75 million domestic. It’s going to wreck Japans box office for sure.
Hopefully it’s a critical success too. fans have been waiting years for a live action pokemon movie so it better not be cheesy!!!

I am excited to watch it and will critique it after seeing the movie. I want to give it a fair chance but I am happy that Pokemon in general is being talked about more especially from grown ups 
I’ll give it a shot! It looks pretty fun from the trailer. Best case scenario is the movie holds up and is well received. Worst case scenario is the movie is bad and joins the rest of the Pokemon movies after the first two. Nothing new about bad Pokemon movies lol

Im 30something now and will see this but not happy w pikachu, i wanted the face to look more like a real pika or rabbit.
The trailer looks nice. I hope it won’t be trash like the Dragonball Evolution movie

I’m happy for the publicity. The hair on the Pokémon is different, but I think the movie will be good for our investments. I’m going to stay open minded about it and give it a chance. Nothing can take the place of the original TV show from back in the day though.
Wait I thought the movie was Deadpool pikachu?
I am 28 and am psyched for it. It looks like a fun and entertaining movie.
