Like most raw cards, penny sleeve and then top load it. I always go a little overboard and wrap it with a little bubble wrap in a bubble mailer. I also send it like it is going to PSA with two pieces of cardboard around the top loader.
I’ve heard back from Mr. Fukuda - he will allow up to 5 autographs per panel attendee after the demonstration. Price is the same on those, but it is an opportunity to get more!
Otherwise, I think the artwork demonstration panel is truly the best part about having an artist. Seeing them work is incredible, and it’s an opportunity to ask questions about them and their work. It’s a small room of about 20 people maximum. It is ticketed, so you’ll have to go through the website on the original post.
@alecpokemon thanks for sharing the event- driving distance for me so I’ll definitely be there.
I have a question about the VG format. Is it Ultra Sun/Moon or Sword/Shield? The event website mentions USUM and bringing a DS but refers to the Pokémon website which says Sword/Shield on switch becomes the format on January 4, 2020 (so DFW would be the first regionals with SwSh):
Be fun to participate since I last did a tournament for a Pokemon 10th anniversary event…
I’d prefer the Switch since I’m playing a lot of the new games but competing would be exciting either way. Mostly there to meet the artist so no high stakes.
Second question actually: does competing interfer with signing times by Mr Fukuda?
This year I signed up for Saitou’s artist panel which was on Sunday and I wasn’t able to make it because I made it to Day 2 of the TCG tournament. I was, however, able to transfer my ticket to my friend who went for me. I’m pretty sure VGC works the same way so if you’re competitive I would count on most of your time being taken up by the competition because the tournament and signings typically occur at the same time.
According to my research on the Pokemon website and YouTube, Dallas will be the first new format Sword and Shield regionals tournament in case anyone else was wondering. So there’s always the chance of lucking into day 2 since it’s so new. Dynamax is allowed but only promo gigantamax forms are valid for Dallas so Charizard blaze form, Snorlax, Corviknight, Drednaw, Butterfree and Eevee, Pikachu, Meowth if you’re bold. More gmax Pokemon will be allowed as 2020 progresses.

@pokemegphd Whatever the official Pokémon site says, go with that! I skimmed the event website and didn’t find where the old games are mentioned, but I sent a message to the person who edits it to look for it and fix it.
The answer to the second question is yes, they’ll be run at the same times. Generally there’s an opportunity when the line is short enough to get in even if you’ve played through day one and are in day two, so worst case scenario, just check the line a few times! If you don’t make day two, there will also be plenty of time!
I hope this wasn’t already answered and I missed it, but what does the “Fast Pass Wristband” allow for? Is there a separate line for people with wristbands? I haven’t been to a previous Dallas regionals to know how it is run. Thanks in advance!
Yeah pretty much - there is a separate line with priority for the people with the wristband. I’m not sure how necessary it is this time around since the times through the line are restricted to twice per day, unless you’re in the main events and want to get through the line quickly, but that’s up to anyone attending!
