Charizard grading advice (PSA/ACE)

I’m fairly new to this, I’m thinking of grading this card with either PSA or ACE grading.

Can anyone please help with an approximate grade based on the below images? I think it’s a pretty good copy … I’m aware there are imperfections especially in the bottom left corner.

Appreciate any responses, thanks.

Psa 6-7 based on the centering, holo scratches, and some whitening. That would be my guess.

Based on the chipping, centering, and silvering, I’d say PSA 7 at best. But we’d probably need a better look at the holo (with better/more light) to give a better opinion.

Also, I would recommend going with PSA.

Thanks both, really appreciate your opinions. Here are some different angles for the holo.

I agree with the others, looks like a psa7 to me

The holo is actually pretty nice from what I can tell. Yeah, cross your fingers for a 7. Good luck.

Genuine question, is there much point grading a card that looks like a 7?

Solid point. They go for roughly £350-400 at PSA 7 looking at recent sales so I suppose it depends on how much the raw card was.

I was originally hoping it may trend more towards an 8, but as I said I’m new to this

Add another PSA/ACE 7 prediction from me too.

Both companies tend to grade quite closely, so I’d say it’s worth going with your preference of slab. :slightly_smiling_face:

PSA will get you the wider resale value if you’re looking to move it on quickly, while ACE has the better quality slab (with the choice of label style) and gives you subgrades for a better idea of how your card did.

If it’s your first time grading, I would recommend ACE since they’re UK based and the process is ridiculously super straightforward (not that it’s much harder for PSA, you’re just dealing with a middleman for the smoothest time with them).

PSA/CGC/BGS only. Grade all charizards. That is my advice.

Card Rarity and wanting to protect it to display

For a Base Set Charizard? Yeah I think thats one of the few cards thats worthwhile grading if you think it could be a 7. It preserves and authenticates the card in “NM” condition.

I agree with everyone here that a PSA 6 or 7 is most likely. Best of luck - please share the results!
