Opinion Needed on card to potentially grade

Need opinion on whether to send this card to PSA or just sell Raw. Its my personal 1st edition base set charizard I bought 25 years ago from a customer of a store I managed. I have included scans and pics from the camera to give you an idea of where the minimal damage is located. Was wondering what grade you think it might potentially return

With the whitening and the holo scratches it could potentially be a PSA 6 as a ceiling

Edited typo*

White is the worst color for a background when trying to evaluate whitening because the whitening is going to blend in with the background. Try posting with a black background.

I would absolutely grade this card, selling the card graded gives you a lot more protection (via a consignment or something like eBay authenticity guarantee) and also establishes a clearer market value for the card. 1st edition Charizard is such a well-established card in the market that there are defined value ranges for each grade which is helpful.

I agree that while the pictures aren’t the best, PSA 6-7 is where I would personally estimate the grade.

I would grade it. I can’t think of any good reasons to sell a card of this caliber raw. I agree with fourth star. Based on the pics provided it looks like a solid PSA 6-7 to me.

Just grade it. Don’t worry about the grade. It’s hard for any of us to give clear indication, expect a PSA 6, be super happy with a 7, don’t be sad if it gets a 5. But send it in

Front of card looks great. Congrats!

definitely grade it! The 1st edition base set charizard is pretty much always worth it no matter the condition, expect a 6 like previously stated, a 5 if they’re having a really bad day but I doubt it would be that low. Plus a thick stamp which is pretty sweet!

okay so i scanned the cards as suggested on a black background for clarity

The corners and centering are very good
I would send this to Beckett first since psa will charge you a nice fat fee even if this was a 6

You can get something like a 9 centering and 8.5 corner score with bgs

It depends on the surface score but surface looks to be anywhere from 6-7 just from scans

So your bgs ceiling imo is a 7.5 but you cant go more than 1 point above surface score. Edges are bad but not terrible considering that the issues are confined to only one area
Since bgs wont upcharge you i would grade with them and try your luck first

You have 3 narly white spots and 2 of them are chunkers so absolute ceiling with psa is a 7 but with the way they’re grading vintage these days expect a 6. Especially with holo scratching

Stamp is beautiful.. you will get a small premium for thick

I would guess a PSA 6. Definitely grade it.
