BGS 10 Black Label Shiny Zard

Or we’re just realist and don’t drink the kool-aid

I get it, its no 1st edition zard, but the 1st edition zard isn’t a Da Vinci either. At the the end of the day, these are kids picture cards so theres nothing “realist” about it…just sayin. I guess what I’m saying is, sometimes you guys with the 1st edition collections come off a bit pretentious when anything NOT 1st edition. Yes I get it, you have the unobtainium and no one can touch your collection. I just don’t see how crapping on someone else’s party is cool. I don’t have a 1st edition zard but if/when I do get one, does it give me the right to talk crap about everyone’s collection and being a d-bag under the guise of being a “realist”?

@phoenixchu, No one is crapping on someone who enjoys the card. People are correctly identifying that the price is extremely speculative. I haven’t read anyone lauding 1st Edition Charizard over everyone. If someone used 1st Charizard as a reference, its to highlight something that is difficult to acquire, vs a card that is literally 6 days old. To really drive this point home: 20 years, there are 0 Black Label 1st Ed Zards, 6 days there is a Black Label Charizard GX.

Either way, if someone wants to drop 10k, more power to them. But it is by definition extremely speculative. Which is why everyone has the same reaction. They don’t have to be mutually exclusive.

@phoenixchu,

You say, “sometimes you guys with the 1st edition collections come off a bit pretentious when anything NOT 1st edition“ blah blah blah.

Maybe if you’re referring to Facebook guys, Reddit guys, IG guys, and the like…you may be right. Here on E4 though, we all support new and less established collections and their owners.

I feel very supported and I collect energy cards. I’ve gotten tons of help here.

To each their own. Imagine paying $10k for a $50 card though. Mind boggling!

Can’t say I disagree with you, and I have 2 zards  I wanna see the rest of this guys collection tho and not just his Pokemon cards. I bet he probably has a bottle of Unicorn Tears.

Raw they’re going for like $600. Who is buying these?

Anybody who’s looking for a cheaper option and not finding it. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Right now, loose boosters (or the current product they come in (the pin boxes)) aren’t exactly cheap either in most places. You can only buy so many boosters with $600,- and still not be guaranteed a Shiny Charizard. So for some, this route will make sense to obtain a Shiny Charizard ASAP.

This week, we’ll see the launch of the second product containing the Hidden Fates boosters (the tins) and so it’ll be interesting to see what happens to the prices.

@megazone They will print the set into oblivion like all the other modern sets and the price will plummet.

There will be (even) more availability, yes. But look at it from this perspective:

Right now, $600 = €540,55
On CardMarket, the cheapest English Hidden Fates boosters are €7,47 + shipping.
So with neglecting shipping costs altogether and assuming stores have unlimited Hidden Fates booster for sale, you can buy 72 Hidden Fates boosters.

Some people want to cut to the chase (literally) and attain the chase card of this set right away. 100% guaranteed. $600 dollar will save them a lot of hassle and uncertainty.

So even though I’m not personally paying that much for a raw Shiny Charizard, I can see why people consider that price tag.

Numbers for reference. Derium opened 1k booster packs and got 3 zards. Nostalgic Factory has opened 2500-3000 booster packs and pulled 4. There are still big youtube channel guys that have been opening packs like crazy and still haven’t pulled one yet. Then there was a guy that bought 3 hidden fates pin boxes and he pulled back to back zards 30 minutes after I pull my 2nd zard. So unless you’re extremely lucky, you gotta open at least 1k booster packs if almost gurantee you a chance at a zard. After that, there is no guarantee that the zard you pulled is going to get a BGS 10 rating either. I looked at all the zards that were on sale that had pictures hoping to score one on the low low that would have a good chance to get a BGS 10, I found none.

A chance at getting BGS 10 ? Did you see the black label reshizard ? The centering on that was horrific. So I think there’s still chance there’s gonna be more than 1 black label if there isn’t id be surprised

Your logic is based on one person’s POV. Yes, it is true that it is quite improbable for a single person to pull a Charizard that is Black Label quality but the market is not a single person. The supply is composed by every single Black Label quality Charizard. So the 3 copies from derium and the 4 copies from Nostalgic Factory and whatever other Charizards that has yet to be pulled or released yet.

This is only the pin box with 3 packs. The tins will be released Friday and the ETBs will be released in November. There will be so many more Charizards released. Whether or not they will be of same quality is a wait-and-see game.

It will be interesting to see, for sure. Though a small correction; Hidden Fates Elite Trainer Boxes will release on September 20th.

My 2 cents once again:

Tins are going to be available within the next 2 days;tins (small and 4pack ones) are still available for Pre-Ordering on most sites, going for 19.99$ up to 22.49$ (4 Packs inside plus the tin plus the promo). Small tins for 9.99 including 3 Packs.

Packs for hidden fates are going to sell for 4U$S or less within then next month; there’s going to be a flood as soon as ETB’s hit after Sept. 20.

And ETB’s arent even the last piece of Product to be released, there’s premium boxes coming after.

People are trying so hard to make others believe product will be limited, wich i doubt; product is LIMITED right now but give it a couple days.

Charizard wise, the card is a Pain to pull, thats for sure, but the current value is 400U$S even in Troll&Toad and goes for less on Virbank; not 600U$S as stated up there.

Packs are selling for U$S7.50 at this time. Thats 53 Packs value for 1 Charizard Gx (Ultra Shiny). If i do the same math with the packs being worth 3.5U$S; Charizard Ultra Shiny (RAW) will drop in value down to at least U$S200; pretty much same thing ended happening with Japanese version wich plumeted even more after Hidden Fates announcement.

You can’t polish a turd.
