Best current vault option?

With eBay’s latest update on their vault services. Which is the best current vault option? eBay, PSA, PWCC or another?

Also, I’ll be honest. With my recent purchase, I’m kinda nervous having something that expensive in my home. So far pwcc is looking like the best option to me but wanted to ask other who have stored their items in vaults first.

Or is storing them somewhere else a better option?

I saw from your other post you really like being able to feel and see your card so have you considered just getting insurance and a small protective case instead?

I’m curious what insurance covers collections? Do you use vault services?

I have that and thankfully have never had to use it. It also covers cards in the mail you are sending to grading, which is cool.

I use pwcc and what used to be called goldin vault (which is collectors vault now, or maybe eBay vault, no clue lol). I’ve had zero issues for either and regularly add to them.

I am happy to hold all your cards, simply ship them to me directly.

So you use the insurance? Hmm I may use it. I like that pwcc is in Oregon. Delaware is too close to the ocean for my liking lol

A hero in my time of need. I’ll get to packing them up asap

+1 for insurance idk who you have but doug has been fantastic and rates are not too shabby. The peace of mind is totally worth it

The cheapest option currently available is the PSA Vault, charging 6$ per withdrawal including shipping on the first 90 days, and 1$ also including shipping after those 90 days. I don’t think that this will be sustainable for them long term and it should end up changing like eBay vault did, but as of today it works like this

Isnt psa the same as eBay? Aren’t they the same company in Collectors?

If it’s just for the 1 card, I’d recommend just keeping it on hand. The vault is not risk-free. It could get lost in the mail, the vault could go under, your card can accidentally end up in a different person’s vault (rare, but it has happened to me)

Life’s too short. Just keep the card with you and enjoy it. Risk of loss will never be 0%, it’s just something you need to get used to

This is a good point. It’ll hopefully be 16 cards after I finish the set in psa 9s.

Do you have your base set in the vault and wait your stuff ended up in someone else’s vault?

I bought an English Jolteon/Flareon/Vaporeon Vmax set and the Flareon ended up in someone else’s vault :face_with_spiral_eyes:. Fortunately not a valuable card but mistakes can always happen.

I’ve had nearly a full shadowless holo set go through the vault. I don’t really use it specifically for storage. I just use it because the savings on shipping/sales tax/import tax to Canada. My stuff would cost 20-60% more without the vault.

If it wasn’t for that, I’d just drain my vault now and probably not use it again

That’s what I am also wondering after the merge, I think that there should be changes soon

Oh okay interesting. So do you just leave the shadowless set at home storage? Sorry for asking so many questions

This is the state-of-the-art security system I’m working with

Honestly that makes me feel a lot better

Love roll of Efour stickers

I agree with others. This card means a lot to you - keep it with you and buy insurance if you are extra worried about environmental damage or theft.

I will probably do that. I really really do love the card

I personally don’t think it’s worth insurance for a single card. I only see insurance useful for life-ruining amounts of money. On the extremely rare chance something happens to this card, you won’t be in financial ruin.

Really the best advice is just to relax and figure out a way to store or display it that you are comfortable with
