So i bought this card of Ebay for 100 pounds uk and sent it in to Psa and its been rejected as a recolour like some has used a sharpy to retouch it up
After taking the time to look at some different cards and check them with a cleaning chemical Isopropyl rubbing alcohol i seem to have found another issue with the recolouring and i was quite surprised
Im new here and i made a youtube channel. I will post the link in this thread so you can check it out on i think this is the way to maybe avoid this in the future thanks for reading !!
So yesterday i posted a thread about a card i purchased of ebay and psa showed evidence of recoloring and rejected it. Following this i had other cards i bought from the seller and decided to check another one seems like she (yes a girl ) did this and selling them as mint on ebay.
I have found a way on how to remove the recoloring ! using a chemical (rubbing alcohol 70%) to remove sharpy pens or marker pens
Here is what i discovered heres the youtube video if you would like to watch
PSA sent me back the charizard back that had been rejected and as been recoloured ! here we are with the video evidence on how to show and remove his lovely marker pen using iso alchol are you ready to see how much came off
Seller denied it all and made out also it was a different pokemon card and it was not theres really
Enjoy this little comedy and marker removing video
This is way i hate Ebay sometimes as these people still exist
Welcome to the forum! I’ve merged all your posts on this topic into one thread. Its not necessary to make a new thread every time you have an update on the same topic.
@joegcards, try to limit the number of repeated posts here. You can always edit an old post. I also wonder if by rubbing such a harsh chemical you are taking off original ink from the card. I’m not doubting what PSA claims, but I would not “check” cards with alcohol because if the card was fine, it no longer is once you rub alcohol on it.
Best bet, don’t buy from that seller ever again. Also, those cards do not appear “mint” even before you tested them. They have noticeable edgewear and appear a bit dirty.
Ink is embedded in to the paper via printing. Marker or pen is on the surface so the rubbing alcohol removes the marker…
Try this get a marker pen and put a few dots on a trash card like a energy and rub it off with rubbing alcohol and you will see the marker be removed. or pen/felt tip… it doesnt damage the card when you remove it.
I tested this theory on a energy many times before so i knew this was how to get the recolouring off
