Appropriate price for PSA 6 or lower 1999 Tropical Wind

Just wondering what people would argue a reasonable price would be for a PSA 6 or lower graded 1999 Tropical Wind.

A 5 went for 10K in December. So there’s that basis

The card is quite rare, and holds considerable value in any condition.

Definitely consider the 10K usd auction sale price (PSA 5) last month as one recent data point for the more damaged copies. I think it would be fairly difficult to obtain one lower than that price (regardless of its condition), given this card’s history, rarity, and popularity.

Of course the cleaner graded copies have sold for multiples of that price, including a PSA 7 recently, and some cleaner ungraded copies.

Sorry to revive this but have an opportunity to purchase a raw copy for 16,000. I would guesstimate it is a 8 but let’s call it a 7 after grading. It has been a chase card for a while. Am I overpaying?

This topic probably warrants its own thread for your specific situation. It could double as a buy thread to avoid the Japanese market tread.

I’d consider making a new thread with a well thought out post as many members here would enjoy the conversation and offer helpful insight, maybe even recent sales data.

I only mention this because you may have better success. Just my two cents.
