@smpratte,@cullers, yep this same guy sent me messages around that timeframe too about a yugioh card i have listed and stated that it was too high and that it sold for less recently.
But yea i would assume just trolling. Not sure why someone would waste time messaging sellers just to state why is this too high and whatnot. Ultimately, it’s up to the seller if its too high/low so be it.
he’s talking about people that say things like, "listen bud(dy), I’m giving you a good offer. Sell it to me now for the price I want it at or you’ll never sell it " or, “Come on friend, I know I’m offering you 10% of your listing price, but do me a favor here? My kid needs to eat and how will he be able to without that Pokemon card!”
“bud” is nothing but condescending to me, regardless of context.
Anything implying some sort of existing friendship between us when I don’t know you at all = red flag
Nailed it right there. We are not “eBay friends”, therefore I’m not gonna slide and give you a discount. People try to take that friend approach to a complete stranger in hopes of negotiating a better deal, and it’s just off-putting to me.
After having a pleasant transaction, how condescending of you to call me “bud”. Do you think I’m that gullible into thinking that we’re friends so I can buy more from you?..well you’re gosh darn right!
Seriously, I just find it very weird how sensitive we can be at times.
Hard for me to believe one lets themselves be offended by any term especially such terms as bud and friend. Maybe you all need to grow a little backbone and pull yourselves out of the snowflake club lol.
I don’t see how my opinion that “bud” rubs me the wrong way makes me a sensitive offended snowflake but ok…
I didn’t tell people to stop using the word nor did I even suggest it. Just in my personal experience within the context of the culture I grew up in, people only used the word to be condensing.
I used to say “Thanks Man!” until that started getting complicated…first over the internet then in person
Edit: I also have dealt with Miro on several occasions, and you know on this particular item I was overpriced. I don’t exactly price check every item in my store throughout the month. If the guy had approached me more reasonably, I most likely would have re-priced the card. Instead he got a fresh name on my block list. If it starts complicated you can bet it will end that way.
