Adults Crying About Prices

I hope you’ve learned a lesson, don’t respond to people asking what your best price is when you have a best offer option!

You could always do what I do.

Unfortunately the standard approach. I find it insulting and wonder if they are aware of what they’re doing. Some may not, but I guess most are and don’t care.

A fresh one: two recent sales were indeed $150 but trouble is they were 150USD ($225~AUD) and yes the person is an Aussie lol

I had a run in with the same user recently, he made a $100 AUD offer on a card thinking it was a holographic, then started quoting prices without converting to AUD lol! He tried cancelling but I wouldn’t let him. He got an unpaid item strike and was added to my block list.

The amount of people that feel entitled to a certain price on your card because someone else sold it cheaper is baffling.

@acebren, well we’ve both got him blocked maybe soon he won’t be able to buy PSA cards from Aussie sellers lol

@pkmnflyingmaster, I get a lot of messages from people quoting pokemonprice and psa auction price they expect me an Aussie to match US sales prices minus the extra import, shipping, grading and conversion fees that I pay to grade my cards lol

It’s your card and you can sell it for whatever price you want, stupid high or low. If they want it and can’t find it cheaper than that is the price of the card now. I’ve never thought to ask for a lower price from someone who doesn’t have a best offer option or asked for their lowest price. Arguing with the seller over a price you don’t agree with seems stupid to me. If it’s too high move on to the cheeper option if there is one.

If they use “bud” or “friend” in their message that’s an automatic no from me.

I just listed my first few items ever on ebay a few days ago and this exact thing happened to me (got a message with “bud” and then a huge under valued offer and a card im auctioning). I politely denied through responding, but I had a feeling this was something common on ebay.

I had the exact opposite recently. I offered a seller an over market price for a card (under what they had it listed though) and they said no, so I moved along. One then recently sold for 35% less than what I offered. Within minutes, they messaged me saying my offer was accepted. I assume they had been watching the same item I was and waiting to see what it would sell for. I had the pleasure of turning the seller down out of principle. It was a one time offer take it or leave it and it was them who turned it down. I then purchased the same card for 80% less. Happy days.
