30th anniversary reprint?

Yeah, maybe! I did hear a rumour they might be using a slightly different shade of magenta on Charizard this time.

New crystal Pokémon, just like they gave us Gold Star Greninja and reprinted gold star Umbreon. They can give us crystal Rayquaza and reprint crystal Lugia.

I know about the classic set! I never touched it though because of the pricing. Also meant more along the lines of reprinting the designs in more of a illustration rare style instead of just copy and paste with like a new border or something

Rayquaza Gold Star or I’ll revolt

Or Base Set 2 tbh. People don’t realize it because it’s vintage, but it’s way cheaper to master set than many modern sets.

What if they make people go crazy chasing a master set by making all 3 starters (or maybe 4 with Pikachu) as the set symbol.

We dont need another reprint of base set charizard…

What WOTC did with 30th was heinous. It was more than just a reprint, reserve list was like a holy thing to never touch. No other card game has such a thing. Everything about WOTC in the 30th and a lot of things is really just not good.

That said, I think we’ve had base set starter trio reprinted 4 times now? And I think they need to give that a rest. Its getting old.

What I liked that they did for celebrations was to remix old mechanics on new pokemon. So dark Sylveon, dragapult Prime delta species mimikyu. That was new, while still honouring old aspects of the card game. Also due to power creep, none of those cards would be viable and anything that would be, would be not allowed for play. The mechanics of original trainer cards can’t be used in modern rules. Can you imagine using bill 4 times on turn 1?

Whatever they do, I hope its better than Celebrations. Generations was huge and maybe I shouldn’t expect that to repeat. But they could give us the gameboy games on switch 2 like we got them on 3ds. I mean, if they don’t, you know they are sadists.

Lets see direct reprints, 180 base-fossil alt arts ready for the base fossil format, card for card. Lets see a pikachu stamp so small it doesnt really stand out and maybe a nice neutral foil.

each card should have 30 of whatever pokemon in the art. i wanna see 30 sandshrews cozied up in a cave, 30 pupitars chillin in a tree pretending theyre pine cones, 30 rayquazas lining up to spell words in the sky, 30 lopunnies— nvm

Reprinting means to print the cards again. They did this in Base Set 2, Legendary Collection, Evolutions, Celebrations (which also contains those illustration arts you mentioned) and TCG Classic.

You can find TCG Classic 25% cheaper on the secondary market. There’s not much demand for it at the moment because the market has decided it’s unpopular. As soon as the price starts to increase as supply wanes, more people will want it. Just like literally every other Pokemon product ever. Price below MSRP? Me no want. Price go high? Other people want it? Me want. The price-point reasoning is an interesting one. People will happily spend £140 on a booster box to receive 10% of the cards in the set yet scoff at the idea of spending £240 to get every card, straight away.

I like the idea of more new old-style cards like the celebrations promo set (dragapult prime, light toxtricity, Zacian LvX, etc.).
I really liked each and every one of those. + they were super cheap! All were below 1$ for years.

I think it was the first Blastoise since Base Set 2 but of course the TCG Classic then reprinted it again.

They should definitely not print any of the 25th cards again for the 30th. I doubt they go that route, but if they did, I would like to own Shining Gyarados please lol.

With the advent of ARs/SARs though, pretty sure we’ll get those in some form.

how do I :broken_heart: a post?

I just want them to reprint 30 of the most popular cards from all eras with a special tasteful stamp.
