Lol I forgot which day it is… welcome from the future I guess.
As mentioned before, Druddigon has a lot of amazing artworks, of which three are by Kawayoo, although I like this one above by Ryota Marayama slightly more.

Black Kyurem EX 145/149
(Black & White: Boundaries Crossed
) [Full Art] (2012)
Black Kyurem is one of my most mysterious monsters. It’s made of ice and somehow it can use electric attacks … ![]()
148/BW-P : Altaria.
I feel that there are some great dragon type Pokemon to choose from. I enjoy this depiction of Altaria and it is such an unassuming typing for a cotton ball of a Pokemon.
Cheers!
I remember pulling this card as a kid and thinking “wow that’s the most HP I’ve ever seen.” Loved pulling this card out and looking at it, unfortunately this love lead to some pretty decent scratches and one right on his eye.
Builds character I suppose!
Okay okay, need the “why” behind this
Don’t really have four most prized cards but I love fossil Hypno.
I wouldn’t say most-priced, but more like favorites. Very difficult to bring it down to just four, though. But here are four nonetheless:
- The original WotC #21 Moltres promo I received at cinemas as a kid. It’s still my favorite TCG artwork to date and I have an entire (raw, sealed, and graded) collection dedicated to this artwork.
- 25 Pikachu by 25 different illustrators on a single artwork, to celebrate the 25th anniversary. It’s still so cool to see these 25 amazing illustrators have this one combined artwork, and I also really liked the little stories each of them told alongside their own drawn Pikachu.
- The Ghost/Phantom stamp Base Set Pikachu. I love that the original Base Set Pikachu has so many reprints, and I also love minor details and quirks in variations of cards. Although I deem it an unofficial repeating error release, I still like the Ghost stamped Pikachu, since it’s unique to just this card, and also gave some insight in the different 1st edition stamp variations of the Base Set.
- My favorite artwork of my favorite Pokémon, and as bonus, autographed by its voice actor for the English (and most international) anime. Although it’s a CGI artwork, which in general I’m usually not that big of a fan of, this artwork’s overall post, light, and background are all just amazing, and the CGI portion isn’t even all that bad either imo.
There are dozens of other cards I own that I could name, but I’m happy I was able to bring it down to just four here. ![]()

What I think is the coolest printing of the coolest Flygon art.
These are my four most “prized” cards - the cards that claimed the most prize cards by knocking out opponent pokemon in the TCG as a kid! And they still look pretty good on the scan, despite how played they are.
I don’t really have 4 most prized cards. I have many cards that have meaning too me. I’m choosing these 5 (not 4). They were the first cards I bought when I got back into the hobby. As a person that dabbles with art and appreciate the great art masters, I love the the partnership with Munch and Pokemon. It why they are framed.
I don’t think I have any prized cards as such. However, I have tried to complie four which have been significant in my journey and growth as a collector.
Unown R - Unnumbered Promo - My first promo card purchase in 2018 after coming back into the hobby.
Masaki Alakazam - Unnumbered Promo - My first ever trade with a fellow collector on E4
Bebe’s Search - Unnumbered Promo - My first every prize card promo, opening a whole new world of tournament prize cards.
017/DPt-P: Drifblim - My first graded card which I cracked for my binder.
Cheers!
My first Pokémon TCG card, and it was a gift from one of my best friends. These versions are among my favorite reverse holos.
Gyarados from the Legendary expansion, E-Card era.
My first “hit” or very rare card that I pulled from a pack when I started in the hobby during the HGSS era.
Houndoom Prime from the Undaunted expansion, HG/SS era.
My favorite card, since it’s Gyarados, illustrated by the great TOKIYA. It’s a full art from a pre-release. A true all-star in my book.
Gyarados Pre-release Promo from the Ancient Origins expansion, XY era.
It was a consolation prize in a small tournament organized by several shops at Friki Plaza in Mexico City. At that time, nobody paid attention to the Pokémon Rumble box. I was really happy to get lucky, finish in third place, and take that box home. I already knew the WiiWare game well—I had bought and played it. Maybe the first-place prize was much better, since it included 6 packs from the Triumphant expansion (HGSS) and one tin of the Johto Legendary Beasts in their Shiny version.
But the second-place prize was only 6 packs: 3 from Undaunted and 3 from Triumphant. Honestly, I preferred—and still prefer—my Pokémon Rumble box.
Gyarados from the Pokémon Rumble TCG expansion, Diamond & Pearl era.
I already posted some of these in the “If you could only keep 6 cards what would you keep” thread, but now to narrow it down to 4 I suppose. ![]()
All of them are my favorite pulls as a kid, even though I love my Aggron and Rayquaza cards, my favorite pulls as a kid are the most priceless to me.
Could not decide whether to go the @anyon most prize cards (taken) route or the sentimental route. I went with the latter to spare everyone too much Gen IV content ![]()
First Pokemon, Pokemon card, Pokemon merch, Pokemon thing I ever saw period. A neighbor came to my house with it when I was 5 years old and it is tattooed onto my brain (my mom to this day says she thought Pokemon was “just another fad” when he showed up to the house with his cards).
First holo I ever pulled from a pack (I sadly don’t have the original copy).
After a long hiatus (and when Pokemon was decidedly uncool at school), a different neighbor got me back in. I bought a tin with this guy as the headliner and learned to play the TCG with Infernape as the centerpiece in my first deck. ![]()
Sold all of my cards to help pay for first year living expenses at Uni. But in 2019, I got back in once again, purchasing this Slowking in a BGS 9.5 as my first ever graded card.
After a couple of exits, I’ve learned my lesson: Pokemon was a huge part of my life and is a link to my past. Even though prices are higher than ever, collecting memories (and building some new ones) is worth the cost. No more exits!
From all PKMN cards I have, these 4 are my most-prized cards … It doesn’t have relation with Market Value & Volatility …
1) Meganium (Unseen Forces - Reverse Holo
):
One of my most emblematic monsters. Her story is interesting. I’ve seen her in a card shop locally back in mid 2021. By that time, she was very expensive. However, I remembered her in 2022 and went back to the shop & purchased her
2) Pikachu (Burger King 2009 - Reverse Holo
):
A monster I’ve never expected to find locally. I was picking up other cards when I saw the Pikachu in a card shop. Despite not being NM, I purchased it. This card is uncommon to find in Spanish.
Fun Fact: Spanish DP era cards lacked Reverse Holo cards. The only exceptions were Burger King cards. Also, Majestic Dawn was an expansion that was not released in Spanish. However, some of its cards managed to have an official translation via Burger King cards.
3) Omanyte (Legend Maker - Non-Holo
):
Portuguese variant of Legend Maker (expansion where Omanyte was present) … Easily this is my favourite Omanyte artwork. Omanyte is the Pokémon that represents me
4) Delibird (Mysterious Mountains - 1st Edition
):
This is my favourite card of all Pokémon TCG. It has influenced my life as an illustrator. I really love the artwork and made me appreciate Delibird and start a Species Collection of this species.
I’ve shown Unlimited edition previously during one of the days of this challenge
Honorable mentions:
I’d have included Trainers Magazine Vol.18 & Vol.19 (but those are magazines) and Dark Magician Girl (but she’s a Yu-Gi-Oh card)
Thanks for reading!!!
