I have a PSA 8 and it only rattles in the case ever so slightly, similar to other Japanese cards I’ve had in the past. Definitely won’t damage them unless you put them in a shaking machine or something stupid.
If the higher vibration rate of the metal is to blame then it won’t take much to cause trouble, especially with this über-frail pot metal garbage I presume these cards are made of.
I just got my grade for the metal Zard, N9 No Grade No Charge lol
It kinda sucks that It’ll be returned to me in the UK, for me to then send it out again if/when they decide to grade them.
Spent almost £70 in shipping to and from PSA
I was going to mention this in the “how do your store your collection” thread, but I store all my slabs in a paint shaker and I’m sure I’m not the only one. So this is good news to me they’re cutting down on that rattle. A lot of my cards end up damaged.
So… PSA is making sure their “faux distributors” that have had gazillion before product hit the shelf can have financial stability? Like TCA opening a whole pallet of ETBs and Express sending all Zards straight to PSA while everybody and their mom trying to track down a store selling ETB with a 1-per-customer limit.
Ahh… So nice to see things getting closer to “normal” again.
Just walked into a Target and casually picked up a Celebrations ETB and a Pikachu VMAX Figure Collection. My local Target had absolutely nothing last year every time I checked. This is a refreshing change.
I love TCA, but does it frustrate anyone that he opened like 20 Ultra Premium Collection and I can’t even get 1? I missed every online drop and that is despite being present for 4 of them. It simply sells out to quick to hit check out.
@davie, Pokemon cards is his livelihood, so as a business he has access to far more than the normal person. I want to be clear that he has earned the right to have access to so many with his hard work, so I’m in no way annoyed with him, so much as jealous lol
Not at all. No offense, but this is some misguided jealousy. Businesses Rusty’s size spend 6 figures a year with a distributor. That is why they can open 20 boxes. Meanwhile you are unwilling to buy a box that is all over ebay for $300ish. Getting jealous of the benefits of someone elses hard work doesn’t help get colored cardboard at the price you want.
@smpratte,You’re right. I’m just saying I wish I had an opportunity for one at retail. No offense to anyone in particular. I’m trying over here and I rather not pay 300 since someone took all 4 at a Walmart because they follow the vendor. After all, it’s just shiny cardboard
I understand that it’s frustrating to pay $300 for a product that is theoretically obtainable at a much lower price. However, at least in this instance the value of the sealed product is in equilibrium with the value of the contents inside. Just the two metal cards are worth almost $200 combined. That really wasn’t the case for a lot of products in 2020 when demand caused sealed prices to often outpace the value of their contents. Whether or not the current price holds is a separate discussion, but it really shouldn’t feel annoying to pay $300 for $300 worth of contents.
In addition, people who clearly have issues with larger players, especially those who have been here for over a decade now have no idea what people of Rusty’s and Scott’s calibre have added to the industry. It’s largely thanks to old school collectors that this market still exists let alone being transformed from hobbyist level to serious collectable level. Don’t hate those that have stuck through it before things became popular while also supporting the distributors with product lines of merchandise that during some years just wouldn’t sell…
