25th Anniversary Set - Celebrations

There’s literally a video on the same page as your post, showing someone searching the packs with a light.

There’s literally a post on the same page as your post, already pointing that out lol, but thanks, yes I glossed over it.

Lol I was reading the thread from the last point I left it, so just replied as I was going along. But yeah glad you found it, and it’s kinda reassuring that these aren’t as easy to search as the McDonalds packs as a few people couldn’t search them.

I am going after the full Japan set for sure. Agreed that it doesn’t seem too expensive to do right now.

I’m seeing eBay selling just the 3 started for $250 or so. Are you guys buying this set on eBay and the other cards are just much cheaper? Or another method?

It’s crazy the prices for the promo packs to get these cards. Again, I’m looking in eBay.

I’d love to get this complete set for $500. Any insight would be awesome!

I can’t believe English did it better than Japan this time. I like the celebrations etbs best.

Trying to be while I wait for my two V Union boxes and collector’s chest. I want to buy another ETB to try finish my set but also I’m not far off and might possibly finish with just the packs in those skus. I’ve lost all my momentum! :slightly_frowning_face: I really enjoyed opening these very much.

I can’t agree, the cards look so much better then their English counterpart :X. I do like the English version but…

@teamrocketop, @kingboo64, the Japanese cards look better, but the English set is more fun to open.

Oh I was worried for a second there

Definitely!

Yea its a shame given how nice the japanese reprints are but overall the english celebrations set>japanese version. Not also are reprint cards not included in the booster box for some reason, but the promo packs you do get the reprints in are searchable. It’s kind of embarrassing how hard Japanese dropped the ball with how they handled their version of the 25th aniv set. They’re clearly trying to make up for it with the 4 pack +1 promo pack boxes but it would have all been avoided if they included the reprints in the booster box originally which is basically what those new boxes are doing anyways.

Completely agree with the above sentiment. Promos in the packs like the English would have avoided the whole searching issues, whilst also making the packs more fun to open.

Does anybody know the opinion of the Japanese community on this? I’d assume that Pokemon knows their market/buyers and decided that this is the best way to sell their product in Japan but I’d be bummed out if this is how it would’ve been released in the rest of the world so I’m curious what the “locals” think about this

English is stunning top tier minus the qc , particularly the non classic collection is some of the nicest art for heavy hitting Pokémon in awhile yet often have print imperfections

Agreed that the Japanese 25th release leaves much to be desired.

I didn’t even realize that the classic reprints are restricted to promo packs until after I had already ordered some booster boxes. I was really disappointed to find that out. I do like the standard set and still want the product, but it definitely is a big negative. I hope the Pokemon Company gets the message and doesn’t do this split release again.

I am getting annoyed with Celebrations just due the complete lack of ability to buy product.

I’ve been very lucky on release day, but none of my pre-orders got in yet. All webshops are sold out or have a not-guaranteed 3 week delivery time. In meanwhile I see young guys on social media posting photos of multiply ETB cases…

If this keeps going for the rest of November… I will end up buying singles to complete the set and not enjoying opening packs.
