2023 Charlotte Regional Championships: Kagemaru Himeno

Oops, darn auto correct, that’s what I meant!

Notice: If you’re preparing for queuing before the doors open on Friday while staff aren’t there, it’s up to the people in line to police themselves. I don’t have 24 hour outdoor staff, so if any shenanigans happen, never let it escalate, and just let me know. At worst, if people get into the queue who weren’t there when they should have been, I can just not text them. Treat everyone respectfully and fairly.

Do not line up before Thursday. Event security will disperse any congregation before that time.

Edited after prepping event security and sending a tweet for the line location in a citi patios for earlier lines. The line is active.

So pumped for this signing  Himeno is by far my favorite Pokémon card illustrator.

I created an artist appreciation reel breaking down her art style and iconic illustrations. Feel free to check it out—

Sketch included in “personalization” category?

I’ve been told sketches are at the discretion of the artist

Hey, my flight unfortunately doesn’t arrive in Charlotte till 9:40am on Friday. Will I still have a good shot at getting signatures if I leave to the convention as soon as I arrive probably at around 10am? I just want 2 signatures

Based on Orlando, you should be able to get through the line, but it might not be until late Saturday or some time Sunday. However, a different artist may take different amount of time to sign. Harada allowed 5 cards per person and Himeno is only 2 per person so that may impact how long it takes each person. Harada was also doing multiple events in the same month while I don’t know that the same is true for Himeno, which may impact demand/interest.

Bottom line: I’d say it’s likely you get through the line but wouldn’t want to guarantee.

I would say you have to go in with the expectation of possibly leaving with nothing. There are a ton of people interested in this event. The real factor is how long she takes to do each pair of autographs. The difference between 1 minute per person and 3 minutes per person basically means twice as many people can go through.

Harada was exceptionally fast. If Himeno sketches on each card she’ll probably be closer to Saitou than Harada. Saitou did 3 each in the general queue. If I recall correctly he made it through about 70 people per day

Basically there’s no guarantee. Go in prepared for the worst case and hope for the best. At the very least it’s always a fun time to met other collectors in person

In that case I’ll just cancel my flight😅 and line up after Thursday evening to be safe

Three weeks out and no panel info :sob:

Do you think finishing details are still being fleshed out, or with so little time remaining we should brace for no panels?

d-does anyone want to let me pay them for (you and) Himeno to make my year?

You can always just ask me directly or tag me somewhere lol. The person on Twitter doesn’t know.

It’s truly still being sorted. That’s the reason the schedule isn’t up as well. The minute we have confirmation, it’ll be known by all.

I thought you were the person on Twitter :skull: my bad

I am when the tweet is about the artist! If it’s not, it’s not me

Question why are the marker colors so limited? The site says only Black, silver, gold, or red.
Would be nice if there were at least two more!

I know it’s exciting but let’s not forget that we should consider ourselves extremely lucky to have the opportunity at all.
