Watched it Subbed and imo it was okay at best. Seemed a bit short and quick to the point compared to the original (guessing due to the use of cgi) but was hoping the battle between Mew and Mewtwo was longer/better to make up for it but nope.
Mew is adorable in cgi.

I was fortunate enough to catch this in theaters when I was in Japan this past summer. Definitely enjoyed it. And getting the promo in person made it even better.

I watched the original on tv about a month ago while i was on a sick day from work. It definitely brought back memories of when it first came out and i went to see it in theaters. I saved up my allowance for a few weeks so i could buy a bunch of tickets to get the ancient mew promo. At that time the original tv show would show one or 2 evolved pokemon per episode. It was mind boggling to see all the strong fully evolved pokemon of the trainers who made to the island during the Mewtwo created storm in one sitting! And watching pikachu trying to revive ash didn’t get any easier lol.
I think the Pokemon look a little odd. Like a mix between Detective Pikachu realism and Anime. Weird shape on some too. Made a reaction video to it and I couldn’t help but think of the positive impact this will have being released strait to netflix!

Oh my goodness this looks SO awesome! I really hope they go through with this! Looks amazing! By far my favorite Pokemon movie they’ve ever made so far. I mean it’s the Origin’s of our collections! I love this movie so much and I would LOVE for them to make this remake!
Might pass and instead watch the original. Would be cool if they used this animation style in a video game though.

I agree, the original is hard to beat! I’ll probably still watch this new one to see how closely it compares in story line, etc.

I heard that the new movie cuts out the bit with the Amber, is this true?
Really not a fan of the art style on this one, not entirely sure why they’ve done it and what the point in re-making the first film again was. Will probably still watch it though!
