The fact that only 6 Black Star Promo Venusaurs have been graded as PSA 10s out of 539 submissions shows just how hard it is for a card with this kind of flaw to get a PSA 10 (presumably the reason it’s such a difficult card to grade is because of print lines appearing consistently on the card).
So yeah, true, I am sure PSA 10s with print lines exist (most likely because the grader missed them… or maybe if the print lines are incredibly subtle and the rest of the card is perfect), but in general you can expect print lines are an automatic deduction, and if somehow they’re not you can consider yourself very lucky.
How is it a 11 to 15k box when he sold it for 18.9k, it give it to you if wanted to say 18k, he is also making money off the views but thats his own thing. I almost got that Lugia I was pretty close to that pack on the list, so was just too slow buying. I bought a PSA 9. I’m going to have to agree with most here its either a psa 9 or BGS 9. Either way still a 2k card on a 525 dollar pack.
Beautiful card. Unfortunately, at least according to their website, BGS has stricter centering parameters than PSA. I don’t think you can get above a 9 centering so you’re looking at a BGS 9 with 9.5 or 10 for corners, edges.
I’m 99% certain one of the last ones to sell was between 11k and 15k. That dude is making way more than 900 bucks off an opening lol. And I agree, its prob a 9, but it could be a 9.5 wont know till it comes back. Either way I’m happy and will be happy with a 9
Learning experience I guess for myself. Esp with the way they grade. I prefer psa anyway, I knew they graded harsh, but not this harshly. But reality is, your prob right

My prediction is a 9.5 with subgrades 9/10/10/9. I’ve seen Lugia 10 with print lines on the holo and it was a partial print line that doesn’t get across the entire holo and can only be seen from a certain angle.
I was speaking more about buying true unweighted packs from other sellers that lack integrity. Not alot of people out there busting these boxes open live and giving everyone a good warm fuzzy seeing it’s not just BS
@keysunlock,I saw that pull and I have an identical Lugia. Card is MINT, but have 3 horizontal print lines running across it. PSA gave it an 8 and I do have to agree as a 10 would be totally unworthy. I wouldn’t mind a 9, but I get it. There is zero chance of a black label at BGS and if the rest of the card is perfect, it would not surprise me if the “surface” sub-grade is an 8 or 8.5. The lines are an issue unfortunately I think for any grader.
I think we are past the black label lol. I have a psa 8 1st edition lugia as well that only has print lines as well. I’m pretty confident it will get a 9 but optimistic for a 9.5 due to the lines being faint and not noticable. But on the conservative side, prob a 9
They didnt run down the entire card, and honestly I knew they where there, but when I got it yesterday I couldnt see them unless I put my flash to it at an angle

Black label or even pristine grade is out of question, be more than happy with BGS 9/9.5 once the results come in. Still much better result what you’d get with PSA, front centering is somewhat ok but surface lines take their grade down to PSA 8 or lucky PSA 9.
